i had to quit avon foundation (my favourite), bare escentuals, etc.
i know this isnt big for most of y'all (being no makeup gals) but i love makeup. LOVE it. and it looks as though i am going to have to stop wearing it for the most part. oh the horror! lol
i thought a friend of mine had found something becasue they were all tauting how they done use bismuth, blah blah blah, but after receiving some sames and a friend getting in touch with the we got this reponse:

Thank you for your interest in our products!

The short answer is no, we do not. Probably 99% of makeup, especially mineral makeup, is based in color with iron oxides, tin oxides, and ultramarines.

and a couple of other companies i emailed with said that even if it isnt on the label its probably in there, just not enough to make the ingredients list.

i know i know. get over it and just be natural. arg.

eta: for those reading this saying "why does it matter if it has iron??" i have a hemochromatosis - a blood disorder that causes the blood to absorb too much iron (my personal absorption rate is about 79% these days). just one, of the many, problems for me is that i get blood blisters all over my body. i wondered why my face was worse than normal and started researching ingredients to find that makeup is mostly iron. no small wonder my face was worse since its warm and my pores are open and sucking in the makeup more than during the winter. of course on the brighter end of things, my hemochromatosis would keep me from getting the black plague if it were to make a comeback lol

I've copied your message (hope you don't mind) to see whether I can find out any more for you as I was interested in this (as someone who also wears make-up on a regular basis).

That sucks.

BTW, what about that time about a year ago or so when you decided to completely forgo makeup? You seemed to do well with it and you always look supercute either with or with.

but, it does suck.
