I am due with #3 in 4 weeks. I am trying right now to prepare as best as possible for the early days after baby arrives.

So far, I have gone to Dream Dinners and have a freezer full of 12 freezer meals.

My sister is going to do sign-ups with friends and family for meal service for our family.

I've washed baby clothes and dipes and have them in those vacuum bags ready. . .

I'm going to make some sheets to stick on the fridge with suggestions for dh on what Matthew and Nathan (my other 2 sons) like to eat for breakfast, snack.

I'm planning on making a Costco run to stock up on some easy snacks for the kids.

Oh, and buying gifts from the baby to his new big sibs. And also buying some cheapy matchbox cars and wrapping them so that when people stop by with gifts for the baby, I can have something for the big brothers as well.

What has really helped you? What do you wish you had done? I'm a little nervous about life with 3 children!

Make sure you're stocked on TP, feminine hygiene products, etc. Consider plastic cups, paper plates, etc., even if you don't normally use them.

Have the oil changed in your car.

Make sure your first aid kit/medicine cabinet is stocked (for you and your other kids).

Extra laundry detergent

Hmmm...I just liked being stocked up on everything so there was no real need to go anywhere if we weren't up to it.

Since the seasons are changing, maybe you want to make sure you have items you might not yet for the summer--sunscreen, insect repellent, etc.

A nice big insulated cup for ice water is good, so you can have it with you all the time and not have to refill often.

A Nalgene bottle filled with water at all times.

Soy Lethicin... I have said this a dozen times on the expecting board, but it really works. You don't get clogged ducts, and you don't get engorged NEAR as bad. 1200MG a day. Works wonders and has no side effects (trust me... I am like a test subject for side effects).

Is there a mama you like hanging out with who has kids the same age as yours? That was a big plus for Cyan... when Sarah came over with Hannah, her 5 yr old dd. They played for hours and I got to sit and talk with a friend (Alex went to a friends house) without having to worry about anything. It helped that she brought dinner too. ;)

Kbsmama, thank you for the suggestion about TP and pads. I totally forgot about that and made a Costco run. Oh - and I got bandaids, too. My kids go through those like crazy!

Val, from another thread you replied to, I already got the soy lecithin and actually started taking it just last week. It's actually REALLY helped me with constipation (sorry if this is TMI). When I'm taking calcium (which I am for pregnancy) I tend to get stuffed up. I've felt so much better!
