BO-RING! SnS today but hey, at least I got some things done.

A linen apron for DD's garb. Rolled hem on the sides, blind hem on the bottom, knife pleats along the top. All machine done with silk thread for speed.

Points:
1/2 yard linen (+4)
dutch linen tape (+1)

Total: (+5)

A triangle neckerchief. Dull as hell but needed. Oh I did use the nifty rolled hem foot on my machine. Takes some practice but once you get going it works really well.

Points:
something from scrap (+3)

Total: (+3)

oh and I finished my pockets. We wear these under the top layer of skirts and access them through slits in the skirt sides. I made these in Jan but ran out of the linen tape for the waistband. So I used some bias tape. I took them apart after the event and have been meaning to put them back together with the linen tape since. No better time than when I need them tomorrow right

Points:
UFO (+3)
dutch linen tape (+1)

Total: (+4)

Plus (+6) for the dullest SnS's around :hahaha: Today's total: (+18)

I swear the next SnS you see from me will be a LOT more interesting!

good for you for being productive! I was just thinking today to try the rolled hem foot on my old singer (again). I could not seem to get it last time I tried but maybe this go round.

Almost makes me want to try out all the different feet I have for my machine. Almost. :D

The white linen looks so crisp and beautiful!

the tricks I learned with the rolled hem are 1. fold about a 1/4" and press. that seemed to make the feeding in much more consistent & my hem didn't turn out so wavy. 2. You have to feed some fabric through the foot before it starts turning, so attaching a bit of scrap at the top of the piece to be rolled seems to help and can be taken off when you're finished.

I'm not going to bother to SnS the white linen neckerchief I made myself tonight. I made one back in Jan with a wider 1/4" hem. Well the first thing one of "the guys" did was inspect the hem on my neckerchief & comment on how it was too wide  So, knowing that he'll be at the event tomorrow I pulled out a yard of fine white linen & did a hand rolled hem. HA! Inspect my hems now buddy! The trick when hand sewing is to get your fingers damp. It makes the roll "happen" so much easier.

You could say I'm "On A Roll" today

It looks nice. Those pockets are way cool, and not boring in the least.
