This is a quilters bundle that DD found Monday & begged for a Redondo skirt out of. It's also called the "break even skirt" because I'll be lucky to break even on points for purchasing the fabric to make this. But DD is worth it. I had hoped there was going to be more scrap (I really wanted the set to have a headband of course ) but alas.

The whole outfit. I still have a few pieces of fabric left for one or two more yo-yo's that I think I'll pop on a hair clip just for extra cuteness.

Front of the skirt. Bias taped hem with a zig zag since I like the way that looks & it's sure to catch both sides better than straight stitching. I did not top stitch the pieces in this skirt but I'm thinking for the next one I'm going to try. Maybe it'll look more professional or something with more stitching.

Don't mind the crazy model. I couldn't get her to hold still even when she was crammed all the way into the corner and had no places else to go! I wish I had her energy!

I just realized my photo's are a bit blurry. I'm trying to learn the features of my camera beyond "auto" and apparently those settings aren't so great for late night inside shooting. Live & learn.

Points

fabric purchased, 1 1/4 yards (-10)
sewn straight away (+5)
notions, elastic & bias tape (+2)
sns (+2)

Total: (-1)

**add in the points from the shirt (+6) and I earned a wopping +5 for the outfit. Next time DD has to wait till after Stash game for her "gotta have it" clothes!**

That's so cute!! I love the colors!

Okay, question cause I am lazy, brain dead, and out of the loop: The redondo skirt..is that a bought pattern? An online pattern? A make your own up pattern, like a circle skirt? I think it would be REALLY cute for some girly clothes I need to make, but am a little clueless right now!

It turned out so wonderful Chole. I can tell she loves it. Look at that smile!

I have found, with my camera, that I can only get clear pictures with a lot of light. I try not to even bother at night or on rainy days...but it was rainy yesterday and you can tell the difference in yesterday's SNS compared to the other ones. I have also found that my camera starts taking fuzzy pictures if the battery is low.

Thanks everyone!

The Redondo skirt is a purchased pattern from StudioTantrum (designed by Mother of Invention). I got mine at SewZanne's after seeing them on E-bay & loving the way the outfits looked. I know there is another pattern company that makes a similar "turned gore" skirt in adult sizes as well.

SewZanne's Fabrics - Your Online Fabric Solution (http://www.sewzannesfabrics.com/p-studiotantrumb.html)

The camera has all these settings for different lighting types. I was really trying to get the colors close in those pictures (& avoid using the frankenstein flash). Little did I know that focus changes with lighting change. Plus DD wouldn't hold still, that's about the only photo where she isn't a giant spinning, hopping blur.

The Redondo skirts skeer me! Thankfully, I don't have any children who would wear one, anyway. :) Yours looks great, and your DD sure has a lot of energy!

The skirt looks like so much fun to sew and to wear.

That is such a cute outfit Chole!! Your dd looks so happy with it.

My camera actually takes the best pics on overcast days. A photographer told me once tht overcast but bright is the best time to take an outdoor pic b/c the lighting is even. So I try to take all my pics right after it rains. lol
