I had a productive day today...but not a lot of points. I happened to sew a bit of someone else's stash, and let someone else sew on mine. Stupid self I say, stupid self. Here is the shirt that goes with the tea skirt. Danielle did this one, but I made one other one, just like it, only not as professional looking. I guess I can count 1 point for ebroidery thread since it was a ready made shirt? LOL, I need points any way I can get them. Hastings is creaming me.

And here is a close-up. It turned out so cute. This one goes to rejoyce's dd.

I made three of these skirts today, but this is the only one I made out of my stash. These are so easy and SO comfy. I got a bit better by the third one, which happens to be the only one I kept. The other two went home with my friend Gwen.

shirt: 1 point?
skirt:
1.5 yards of fabric 12 points

I also gave away 3.5 yards of fabric which were used to make breast pads and prefolds out of. I can't say I helped out much, other than watching, and turning one breastpad from a CD size (we used a CD for a pattern) to the size of a silver dollar. I need some more experience on the serger I think.

There they are, mine is hidden in there somewhere. It's the micro sized one:)
WAIT! I made one. It used scraps. I get a point! Wahooo! LOL.

Total points for the day
14 points + 14 points for give-away= 28 points
Wait...3 SNS (but I feel a bit bad that I get an extra 2 points for a SNS only worth 1)
28+ 6= 34

Someone, please let me know if I did this right. I live in fear of accidentally cheating at the stash game. Perhaps the shirt should count as an accessory...in which case, I have no clue how many points it should be.

very nice work. I love getting together with others and sewing (especially if I can convince them to do the jobs I hate!)

Take the point for the thread as a notion on the shirt. For the work that went into it, you deserve it.

I love the embroidery on that shirt! So cute. Adn the skirt looks really comfy. I normally live in sweats but I think I could learn to love a cute, comfy skirt like that! Does it fall down?

About the points, I think you do get one point for embroidery...it's for the hooping not the thread, per se. Did you use stabilizer? I think that's a point too if you did (notion).

Nice stuff!

Cute outfit! What did you use for the waistband on the skirt?

it's just turned over and threaded with one inch elastic.

pssst....bekca....I think she means the other skirt. ;)

it's the same concept as putting a collar on a tshirt. She held fabric around her waist so it was snug...cut it at that point and sewed it into a tube. Then attached it to the skirt by stretching the waistband part to fit the skirt part (after dividing in 4th like you do for a neckband).

I love that Tea skirt, the ribbon accent is perfect!

I wish someone would come sew out of my stash, it needs to be trimmed down so much!

I really like that mama skirt, I've been meaning to try one out for myself. That's really pretty embroidery on the shirt.

Haha, sorry about that, My brain is full of jello (sorry, I happen to have loved that phrase...and my choice tonight is strawberry).

I did it how Danielle said. I had mae one several years ago out of dandelion knit and haven't had a chance to re-visit the idea. I had a basic plan and Danielle helped me with the rest.

Also, the wasitband is made out of ribbing, which worked far better that the t shirt knit I had used on my dendelion skirt. The tube is doubled over and then stitched on. When I wear it, I fold it over again, making the waistband four layers of knit. Was that clear as mud...errrrr...strawberry jello?

Hastings is creaming me.

You're very, very safe. I need to update my points with like -1600 pts for fabric purchases :p

I love everything you've been producing lately, really beautiful.
