Well, I was going to post a tutorial on serging in a waistband elastic. I was half way through & did *something* and my post disappeared! Argh!
So instead a quick SnS for what I did yesterday.
This is the matchy t-shirt for the yellow & pink "break-even" Redondo skirt I'm working on. There was barely enough left over scrap to make a few yo-yo's ala Heather Baily's tutorial (http://heatherbailey.typepad.com/). As it turns out yo-yo's are exactly the same thing you do to make cloth buttons only flattened instead of stuffed.

the t is from Target, happened to match the skirt fabric perfectly. As mentioned the yo-yo's are scrap from the skirt. The buttons are from my collection, I think they belonged to my mom at one point.

I toyed with a few other ideas, making the yo-yo's look like flowers etc but I like them just like this instead. Simple, vintagey (if that's not a word it is now) and cute.
I foresee many more yo-yo's in my future.
Points:
something from scrap (+3)
notion (+1)
SnS (+2)
total = (+6)
