Whoo-hoo, I finished. That's one very large load off. Not my ideal, but there is a quilt for every kid and they are meant to be utility quilts since my sis is decorating their bedrooms in the next few weeks anyway.

Hers is a 4 patch done in all fairy fabrics.
Its a twin spread (72X96) and I did a matching sham, that isn't pictured.

+3 Notions( pillow form, binding, yarn to tie)
+23 scrap points (half the blocks have swap squares in them as half of the block, plus 3 for the scrap used in the pillow )
+ 86 yardage (4 yards back, 4 yards cut into blocks, 2 yards batting)

I was really thrilled with this one before it was tied. I had no "boy" fabric and my 6 year old nephew wanted dragons. I found several flame fabrics in my stash, used dragon batik squares as accents, and then spent 7 or so hours drawing and painting the dragon. The ties obscure him and I'm disappointed at the look. My mother decided to go ahead and put it on the frames and tie it while I went home for lunch and L's nap. She had it off the frames when I got back. You really can't complain when someone is helping with a project I suppose. Oh well, like I said, its a utility quilt.
+4 notions (paint for center, 8 batik squares, binding, yarn to tie)
+ 86 yardage (4 yards back, 4 yards front, 2 yards batting
+2 sns
= +92

subtotal = +204

Wow! Just wow! I can still see your dragon, and if I were to give that to my nephew, he would love me forever. Those are just incredible.

What great "utility quilts" - never heard anyone call such nice quilts "utility" before! :D I hear you about the dragon quilt - it's harder to see the painted dragon. Any way you can snip those center ties and do something different in the middle, without upsetting your mother?

Not before tomorrow, which is when they are being given. I did talk to my sister about it though and either she or I may do it quietly afterwards.

Oh man - I missed this post originally - I saw the first one - and that fairy one is TO DIE FOR - My Annie would LURVE to have that to snuggle up in :D Of course she would have to fight mama and Little W for it too :lol: For someone not very girly as a rule - fairies and butterflies are my "thing" :lol:
