I want something like this crown for Jack's first birthday
eBay: Boy boy's First Birthday Prince Crown Set 12-18 18-24 (item 190103356506 end time Apr-21-07 18:36:15 PDT) (http://cgi.ebay.com/Boy-boys-First-Birthday-Prince-Crown-Set-12-18-18-24_W0QQitemZ190103356506QQihZ009QQcategoryZ147314Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

We usually do the fluffy marabou ones for the girls and he deserves a special hat, too. :D

Does anybody make them? Know how? Know of a template or pattern that I could try to do?

I'd rather have someone else do it, but if I HAVE to, I could try to figure it out :D

I'd also trade GENEROUSLY if someone knows how :D

I have made some really cute ones for girls and boys but I don't have the right feet on my machine for free motion quilting/stippling right now.

I am trying to find a blog that had the pattern on it!!

Maybe someone else will chime in. It is REALLY simple and fun.

Here's (http://soulemama.typepad.com/soulemama/2007/03/a_little_about_.html) a link without a pattern, but they don't look too hard to figure out.

Let me look on MDC. I'll be back. I want to make one for Amy's B-day on May 4th.

Found a thread (http://www.mothering.com/discussions/showthread.php?t=449935&highlight=crowns) at MDC with pictures no pattern. Hmm maybe craftsters.

LOL
thanks so much :D Lots of inspiration out there. I can't figure out how to turn and topstitch and get such nice, crisp points, though - especially with wool.

I haven't followed all the links provided in this thread, but have you checked-out SouleMama's blog (at) typepad.com?

Oh my gosh - I love hers! She's also coming out with a book that will have a tutorial on how to make them! You can also find her photos on flickr.com. :)

I can make crowns, but I don't have embroidery capabilities like that. Let me know if you're interested.

One of the mamas here made Caden this crown :

Ill try to dig up my past and figure out who it was that made it - its soo cute, reversible, glow n dark pom poms then it has his name embrodiered and it still fits his big head because the fleece has a little stretch

I was just over at Danielle's today and Mason had a birthday crown made of felt. it was adorable. I didn't ask, but I woud bet money that either Isabelle or Danielle made it. It would be perfect for a birthday boy.

Sillygoose was who made our crown! Looked it up lol She was wonderful to work with and gave lots of choices in how to put it together, inside color, color of thread for name and I want to say it was $15? around there I believe, TOTALLY worth it... I so wish I knew future children(s) names / gender Id buy ahead just to make sure they each had the same type of hat at their 1st birthday lol just incase I couldnt track down sillygoose ;)

shes still active too so look her up and pm her :D
