I'm doing well, but dang I keep repeating my mistakes!
I have a list. I go in and buy exactly what's on my list. Then, I start with the add-ons. As I am heading to check out, I come to my senses and I realize what I have done and then I have to go all over the store and put it back.
I guess the important part is that I put it back. However, I can't seem to stop from putting it in my cart. :D

I do that all the time!! But I guess that is why it is a good thing I love wandering around my favorite stores...gives me the time to come to my senses. For me my issue is Costco, but I have been challenging myself to go into my favs without buying things on my list...even if it is something that should've been on my list, but I forgot. It teaches me a lesson on maintaining a good list AND keeps me from allowing myself to stray just a bit.

Oh I have ended up taking it home. lol! And THEN bringing it back. That serves me right I guess. I do ok when I know what I need... but now I understand the people that only shop online. Becuase when I shop online I get what I need and only what I need, walking through trader joes, target, costco? Not so much. lol... I always bring it back, but that gets spendy too. lol!

I do it at Meijer too. I have to put back what me *and* DD have 'inadvertently' put in the buggy :o
But I agree, browsing does allow the time to come around and put it back, plus I get exercise walking fast to put it all away ;)

yes!! Just think of all the steps I wouldn't get if I shopped according to my list. My pedometer would regularly shout out 'sloth' !!!

Does anyone else do that? I'm afraid we'd starve/run out of toilet paper if I did that! I do make myself think "do I REALLY need this and I just forgot, or do I just want it?", but I inevitably add stuff that I really do need and just forgot to add to my list.
And I'm pretty impressed with all of you returning stuff to its right spot. I often just buy it, which is why I avoid going to target as much as possible!

:cuc: I did it...made the costco/publix run this morning and bought only the things on my list...woohoo!!
But it was humorous to watch the family in front of me in line at costco going through their cart before it was their turn and they all kept pulling things out of the cart they didn't want anymore:lol: Made me laugh just thinking about this post this morning. But they didn't run all over...they just stuck it all in a big pile next to the stamp display by the checkout counter. They get to rethink AND be sloth about it!! :)
And we did forget to put something HUGE on the list that I will have to get on my next run out to the store scheduled for Tuesday PM ...icecream!!! :wah: I won't die...but I did put it on the list upon returning home!

I send DH into stores when we're really watching it (with a descriptive list) :D
He has FAR more willpower than I - and he's fast :D

lol.
I haven't been in target for a long time. I may have to stop buying pet supplies at petco tho. I'm afraid I may come home with an extra cat one of these days.
Actually, in February I wanted Mr grey cat so badly that I told myself that if he was still there after 2 more visits he'd be coming home with me. He was there on visit #1 and on visit # 2 I sent the kids into the store to get crickets. lol. I knew I'd keep my contract.

I absolutely need to shop with a written list. As long as I have it with me, I'm good and stick to it ~ no extras at all. But if I go in with the idea that I just need to pick up a few things and I have that "list" in my head ~ oh my!:eyes: I find it really hard to pass up good deals and sales and start picking up things that were not even close to being on my mental list, lol.
And add me to the list of those who walk around the store putting things back right before I head to the cashier!

I stick to my list on most trips.
I have my route in the store and just get those things I need.
I find that most of my items now are grocery items since the Targets near me now have a large refrigerator, freezer section (they didn't always!). Once I get the groceries, I have to leave soon so they stay cold!
