Good list :)
I'm DYING to see your quilts!!! I keep thinking about them ;)
I need to:
Get Easter baskets out
Locate eggs
Get change for them
Go through all the "miscellaneous" bins in the garage and pack them appropriately, with room labels (we threw a bunch of stuff in bins before a walk-through and then got burnt out and needed time off)
Maintain, Maintain, Maintain
Hard boil all the eggs
Dye said eggs
Dye playsilks for egg grass

Sandi... will you send me a few things you like for Jacks room? The more natural the better, but I can do other things too... I just need ideas for his quilt... ;) :D

 Thank you! :D
XT did you get your stuff?? :D
I think we're done.
I had an AWFUL day. One of those days when everything that can go wrong, does? I made my lamb cake, which my Mom made every year and I've made every year, and RUINED IT :wah: It stuck and crumbled. :wah: :wah: :wah: I packed my cake release and effed it up big time. Sooo - it will be crumbled with berries instead of sliced.
My ILs were supposed to come over for dinner, I went to the store last night to get their diet crap and special sodas and plates and stuff, and she calls this AM and says she just can't get HER stuff done (she has ONE child coming over tomorrow - just her DD) if she comes over here. Yet she's the one constantly crying that she NEVER sees her grandkids  I lost the receipt for DSD's outfit, who is not going to be here on Easter now, and returned it to Kohl's for credit before it was clearanced and they only gave me about 50% of what I paid three days ago.
Speaking of losing things, we have NO idea where the bins are that have the actual Easter baskets in them, which means I have zero plastic crappy eggs in the house and had to buy more - which KILLS me because I had JUST weeded out the good ones. So next year we'll have like 400 eggs to fill and hide.
I did something to my tailbone last night and it hurts to sit and walk. I had to run out to the store today to find JB khaki PANTS because it's friggin THIRTY DEGREES OUTSIDE and it was NINETY last week :vent: Of course, it's the day before Easter and every freaking person on Earth is at Target - our Target had ZERO pairs of khaki pants, Kohl's had zero pairs, we had to drive down to another Target and finally found them.
Oh - and we were supposed to have lawn service start this weekend. We woke up to the sound of them cutting the grass - didn't pay much attention - then when we left, we discovered that they DIDN"T FREAKING CUT OUR LAWN!!!! They ONLY did the common grounds! :vent: We have our house on the market and it looks AWFUL and now we have no time to actually do it because we'll be gone all day tomorrow and DH goes back to work on Monday morning, so at best, it will be Monday night now and we freaking PAY FOR THIS! Grrrr.
Blah. :help:
XT did you get your stuff?? :D
yup. Middle of the night Thursday. :p Thank goodness for 24 hour grocery stores. I wasn't going to be without the kids enough otherwise.
I can top your crappy Easter story. :wah: My dog killed my niece's mouse. And it was largely my 4 year old's fault. :( Sort of one of those situations where everything that could go wrong did, and the poor mousey didn't survive it. I feel absolutely sick over it. Luckily, Grace is an amazing kid, and even though she was really upset, she was also forgiving.

:eyes: Poor mousie :( That's awful, but amazing to hear how forgiving Grace was.

I have had holidays like yours Sandi. That sucks. I am sorry mama. I hate it when that happens... just sort of makes me feel as though I need to go to bed so the day just ends you know?
As for my day, it went as perfect as it could on a rainy northwestern Easter. The morning was clear enough for me to put out eggs and clean up the yard without getting rained on. The dh was VERY helpful and cleaned most of the inside of the house while I was cleaning the outside in the sunshine. Even the baby cooperated, as he watched me from his car seat in the wagon as I drug him around the yard with me dumping eggs, and picking up yard waste.
Friends got here at noon and kept trickling in until about 2pm. Selena was there with her sweet littluns, as was Sarah, my brothers, my friend Erik and his three girls (and girlfriend), my dad and his girlfriend... all were in good spirits. :) We had a make-your-own-ham-sandwich bar and everyone brought a side dish, anything from a HUGE veggie tray to chips from the store and it was wonderful! It stayed about 60* outside... not warm by any means, esp with the rain (which started as the kids went outside to do the egg hunt, but that was litterally the ONLY thing that went wrong, so I am forgiving. ;) ) but not cold either. The rain was even about that temp, which meant it wasn't the type that when it goes down the back of your neck you scream... you know? So the kids frolicked in the rain as the larger boys moved tables under the patio to eat and talked about video games and the ladies and I were inside getting the food ready. Cyan and Hannah (Sarah/Snugbugs dd) were both in their big puffy Easter dresses and rubber boots... it was SO cute!
It was beautiful... just wonderful really. We were all expecting really cold rain, so the fact that it was warm and light rain was better than we thought it would be...
The most perfect Easter I have had in a really really long time. :D
