I've mentioned previously how insane my MIL is about giving us all crap for EVERY SINGLE HOLIDAY.......even St. Patrick's Day.......I mean, who does that?
Anyway, she gives us all, not just junk clutter, but also junk food---chips, processed cheese crap, pop tarts (with all the icing and sprinkles, no less), candy, etc.
I find the junk clutter easy to get rid of because I can at least donate it and hopefully somebody will enjoy it, but for some reason, I can't dump the food. I sit here looking at my belly (looks like I'm 7 months pregnant) and I still can't get rid of it. I don't know why!
We don't ever buy the crap. We know it's junk and I feel horrible for letting my kids (and DH and I) eat it, so why is it still here?
Somebody knock some sense into me!!!!!!!

Because it's addictive. And it tastes good. I am having a very hard time breaking my sugar habit. I've got the belly to prove it too!

you can send it to a food bank in your area.

You're supposed to be telling me to trash it, not reminding me how yummy it is!

I've thought about it, but then I'd feel guilty about giving them junk.....I guess it *is* (or might be considered) food.
Do they take stuff like that? Just like a big bag full of chips and candy?

Trust me, a food bank will take anything edible. I have had to rely on them in the past, and the stuff they would give me to feed the family was pretty pathetic sometimes! Though, to give them credit, they would think they were giving us a special treat for the kids when they tossed the lollipops in! :vent:

I send all my unwanted food with DH too. He works in construction, so I tell myself that they will burn it all off. :)

My DH works in a hospital or fire dept (with paramedics), depending on the day, so they will have medical care when they have heart attacks from the crap!!!!

I'm not knocking St. Patrick's Day (Happy Birthday!!!), but do you know any other *adult* that still gets gifts from his/her mom for St. Patrick's Day? We never even got gifts as kids for St. Patty's Day.
It's so weird to me.....and she gets us TONS of stuff too....not just one little thing. I know, I should just be grateful.............(for all the crap I have to find homes for and all the decluttering I have to do!)
