and would you care to share a pic?

I am realizing that my stuff is all over the house and it would probably help me to organize it in one spot. I tried with a stacked in and out box but it got stagnant and I haven't touched it in two months. Therefore my piles are back. Please share how you keep yourself organized with mail/appointments/etc.

I don't have a large family, but I do know how to organize. :)

This is what I do to make the full days run a bit smoother.

Bills & mail: I have a secretary beside the front door. I check the mail and take all junk mail to the garbage....pronto. All other mail and bills go into the secretary. Online banking is a must! Once you have everything entered and scheduled it takes just a few minutes twice a month to pay bills. I don't look at the bills until its the 1st or 15th (my bill paying schedule). As soon as I pay bills, I file the paperwork in the file cabinet drawer located next to the computer.

I have a family calendar. I love calendars, especially snazzy books that I can carry with me; alas, I have found those don't work. I use a large desk-top calendar that I mount on the wall in the schoolroom (our central location). Everything get written down in pencil!

I used to keep a calendar that had each kids daily chore on it and their weekly chore, as well as who had that day for laundry.

I only listed the oldest 3, the younger 2 were responsible for the easier things (helping set/clear the table, folding rags/hand towels, helping sort laundry, picking up, etc.)

If they can recover the data off my computer, I'll post a picture of it.
