This great weather has me thinking about Summer Vacation. Ours is about 10 weeks long. We have some day and sleepover camps planned, but still have about 6 weeks with no plan. Most of the programs here are very expensive. I am going to take one week day off, Grace will probably have one office day too. What are you plans?

K will stay in her 3 day a week daycare/preschool.

R will go to the local Rec summer camp - 5 d/wk 8-3pm is only $350 for the whole 5 weeks (trips extra of course). I'll just pull her out when we want to do something fun.

Then when that is over, her school aftercare runs weekly programs - about $200 a week. I think she'll do that while my DH is away for 2 weeks. Then we'll take the rest of summer off - maybe they'll go to my inlaws for a few days, etc.

I can get by w working 1 day week for that time period (I hope).

Or she can still squeeze into the old preschool until she's 7. So 1 day week of that wouldn't kill her and it's $30/day. Or local HS girl.

A lot of it depends on my actual schedule by then & if K stays at that daycare for next fall or goes to the free public school program.

I'm not sure yet. I'm going to talk to the preschool director for where Roman goes and see what they can do for me in terms of financial assistance this summer. If I put both of them in at our discounted rate it would still be $825/month for the two months and 2 weeks Zoey will be out of school. Thats alot of moola.
Chelsey will be in cosmetology school full time this summer Tuesday-Friday 8:30-5:30 so she will be gone all day.
tom works earlier in the summers - like 4am-1pm so the kids would be in school/summer camp from 7:30am when I drop them til 1:30pm or so.
So thats our plan to die financially this summer lol. I am not so sure we have another choice.

I work from home but still need help. In the past my 14 year old would help but this year she is hoping to get a job. I have every Friday off, plus two weeks in July. I am thinking I can get away with Wed at a gym camp, and Thurs at my daycare provider. Should cost me about $100 per week for both kids, so about $600 for the summer. Then Mon, Tues they can hang out at home while I work.

One of Teagan's teachers does day care out of her home in the summer so we will go there. Its $25/day for each child. They are fed breakfast (usually their second  Ms. Elise has good breakfast), lunch, multiple snacks. They have stuctured play time and free play time, movies on rainy days, crafts and friends from school. All the same rules from school apply, nice for consistency. There is beach accesss to a lake a block away and if it is warm enough they will go every day in the afternoon. Plus she will do one or two field trips usually to a water park, all included. She is a fabulous lady, with a gift for taking care of children. We are soooo lucky.

I know, it's hardly worth working in the summer!! I'm trying to figure out how to quit my job, but since I own the place, I can't figure it out.

One of the local private schools has a wonderful summer program. The kids are well behaved (our biggest complaint about some of the other programs), there is lots to do. They visit the school library, go to the movies and go swimming weekly. I pay $170 a week for my two. It is less than the Y and the kids at the Y were horrid.
