Details of swap: Please get (and eat LOL) a full size pringles can and fill it up to the top with sewing goodness! Notions, trims, buttons, beads, baubles, ribbon, pincushions, thimbles, your favorite sewing item, fat quarters, the possibilities are endless!! Please fill it all the way up, pack it! You'd be surprised how many things you can fit into a Pringles can!! Also, as good as they are, Pringles are pretty greasy, so make sure you wipe it out so you don't get your awesome swap items greasy. Decorate the outside if you want, make it cute, this is a great opportunity to show off your creative side ;D

Shipping directions: Pringles cans can be shipped as they are if you secure the lid REAALLLLY well, just slap a shipping label and go to the PO. OTOH, it's just as easy (and won't damage the decoration if you so choose) to throw it in an envelope

Thanks for the suggestion but I would prefer that everyone use the Pringles cans just for the consistency. That way everyone is getting pretty much the same "value" YK.

That said you don't *have* to eat them, heck you might not even have to buy them. I'm sure my neighbors would be more than willing to pass on their cans to me if I asked. Eating them is just a little bonus.

I think they're smaller, they are kind of, concave on the sides, aren't they? I would suggest using the same can for everyone, ie. either stax OR pringles, so that everyone's all the same. I personally prefer pringles because it's easier for me to decorate a cylinder rather than some odd shape tube LOL :D Whateve Chole thinks!

I bought my can today. Who knew there were so many flavors! I bought baked potato.

Me too! Man it was cool stuffing that thing full! Pringles cans hold a LOT of stuff! I got boxer elastic, batik squares, foe, iron ons, appliques, ribbons, velvet elastic, prr buttons.. its chock full of goodness! :heart:

Chelle- there isn't a value. Just stuff the sucker. Chances are if you're kind enough to be thinking "am I sending enough" that's what matters you know.

I was trying to wrap it to send alone, but I just wasn't having any luck. I happened to have an empty saltine cracker box and it fit PERFECTLY with some grocery bags for cushioning.

Sonya- to be honest I just put mine in a tyvek envie. I lost the top to my pringles can so I rubberbanded a paper towel to the top! :lol: (btw- I found the top today- duh!) It was only going across the bridge- so I didnt really worry about it. I figured if the can busted- nothing was really breakable anyhow!

I added a kanji batik square
a bunch of cool ribbon appliques I bought from marcey (The Fabric District (http://www.thefabricdistrict.com) - odds that never end) some jingle bell trim, some iron ons, some boxer elastic, some striped foe, some velvet leopard elastic :lol: hmm what else? oh and a "grow your own cosmopolitan for fun! :D

Love the glow in the dark thread, and the ribbons, and the needles (now I don't have an excuse to use a double needle- I have one! someone tell me how to use it!! :lol: )

I got my can from martinanne today, all packed full of incredibly fun stuff. Thank you for all of it, Anne! I'm so excited about the FOE, I've been dying to try some out but too chicken to buy any 'cause I'm not used to sewing with knits, so now I've got a perfect chance to try some out. I'm glad you liked it, Toria! This was a fun swap. I really enjoyed it. And it really did help me to get my sewing room unpacked! The entire rest of the house was unpacked, but my sewing room was just a room packed full of cardboard boxes. Now I can actually move around in there and soon I'll be sewing again.

Oh I'm so glad you liked it, after I sent it, and I got mine, I felt inferior ROFL!

The pirate pins were shrinky dink! I just printed out a bunch of skulls on shrinky dink paper (Sanded first, so the ink sticks) and cut them out, popped a straight pin through, and baked them, then I shellaced (shelaked? shellacked? ROFL) them so the ink didn't rub off!

I can't wait for another one, I think once I move (unless someone beats me to it) I'll host one in May! LOL Or, you can, you did great on this one :D

Glad you liked it. It was hard since you have boys & all my fabric is frighteningly girly! I figured the scraps could make neat appliqués or pockets and stuff. The snap is easy. Maybe we should do a tutorial since I know some other people have mentioned learning to use them too.
