I had this little idea of putting together art packages. It would be geared toward ages 4-9+.
There would be at least ten different art or craft activities. They'd be fun, easy for mom, and include almost everything you need (you might have to round up a pair of scissors, a glass bottle & a piece of carboard).
Examples of things that would be made are vases, decorated t-shirts, bracelets, treasure chests, and suncatchers. There would also be art projects involving scratch art and oil pastels.
The projects would have very simple instructions or be self-guided (ie the child would explore using oil pastels on paper).
I'd have to see how many people are interested to see what the cost would be. It would be more reasonable than a 10 week art class. (eta I'd guess just under $50 including shipping?? If that was too much, I could have fewer projects.)

I'm open to feedback or suggestions... (update in reply)

Ann,

I would really love something like this. I am terrible at coming up with craft ideas/things for the boys to do. I have a 4yo, 7 1/2yo and an almost 9yo all boys.

Keep us posted as to whether or not you end up doing this.

If I can figure out a place to buy little paint cups, so I could divide up paints, that would save us a lot of money.

Oh as for little paint cups.. how little? They have those new glad lock containers.. I bought small ones that I use to send my dh to work with salad dressing (he doesn't like to have it sitting in his salad all day) They are bigger than those teenie paint cups.. but the lids lock on really well and we haven't had an issue yet. Maybe that's an idea?

This may be something I'd want in on also. Please keep me updated? I have a boy who will be 8 in June. (and also have two girls aged 12 and 14 who may want to do this also)

Everyone, please see my new thread on the market board which lists all the projects (Modified my original ideas slightly but there are some fun projects, especially if your kids like to decorate things!) Cost is $39 which includes shipping & I offer quantity discounts if you're getting more than one.
