I am getting ready to place my huge Rainbow Resource order and I am wondering about ETC. We are currently working through books 1-3. We are planning to use WP LA 1 next year with G and it skips to book 6. Do I need to order books 4 and 5 and have G work on them this summer or just skip them?

I want to order them at the same time since I will get free shipping this order. What do you think?

From a quick glance at the WP website, to check the LA1 program and AdvK LA programs, it looks like she is using the Right into Reading book and the File Folder reading games to cover the skills presented in ETC 4 & 5. You could always email her and ask, but from what I saw of those books in the peek into the book feature on Amazon it looks like some of the same material.

Thanks, we already have the word families book and I think it covers alot of the same stuff that is in ETC 4.

You will be fine. ETC 4 is kinda hard. I usually skip it and come back to it later.

We had a discussion about this on the WP yahoo group a while back and someone ended up emailing Karen to clarify.....she said that the info covered in books 4 and 5 was covered elsewhere in the program. So basically what Jennifer posted above!

My oldest just finished ETC 3 and I've been looking over the LA programs trying to decide what to do and it was seriously freaking me that WP skipped 4 and 5 and went to 6 but after I looked at the actual content of each book I could see it wasn't a huge deal.

I guess I am a little anal and was really bothered by the books being skipped! I know I need to relax, just not easy to do. :lol:
