I signed up to take a class at our towns knitting shop. We haven't been in our current town long and I thought it would be a good way to meet some ladies who like to craft/knit. But now I need supplies!
The class is making this (sweater on cover)
Interweave Knits Summer 2006 at Knit Witts Yarn Shop (http://www.knitwitts.com/item/Interweave_Knits_Summer_2006/3834/c109)
its out of bamboo yarn and its knitted on circular kneedles. I bought the magazine for this sweater last summer. I wasn't planning on doing it now, I am working on something else, but the class available.
So I need circular needles and was looking for recomendations, metal, wood, what brand is good for smooth connections? Any other tips?
This will be a challenge for me, but it will be so helpful to have the class.

I have a few Clover bamboo circs and that I don't like very much, they're usable but the cord isn't flexible and the join isn't so smooth
Addi Turbos are wonderful but $$
I use my Denise set for most knitting
I have a couple of knit picks new circs but i haven't tried them out yet, the cords do seem more flexible

I love my bamboo circs, mostly all I use. Addi's are everyone's fave, or try the new options set at KnitPicks.com : Knitting Yarn, Books, Patterns, Needles & Accessories (http://www.knitpicks.com) I hear wonderful things about them. I've been told they are better and smoother than Denise. Also, I think they may be cheaper, too.

Thank you so much! I'm going to try the options and addi turbos. I need 24" and 16" lengths so I had to go with two different ones because options didn't have 16" lenths. I don't have many supplies for knitting, my Mom has told me she will give me my Grandma's knitting supplies just as soon as she can find them. My Mom is a quilter and she will win when she dies because she has the most fabric. Unfortunatly Grandma's knitting stuff is in Mom's quilting room
So I've only been buying what I need for a project. Just my luck when Mom comes next week I'm betting she will bring exactly what I need.:hahaha:

I love Addis (also known as Addi Turbos in the US). You can order them from here: Kangaroo: stockists of specialist yarns and accessories, worldwide mail order service: Addi Turbo's Circular Knitting Needles (http://www.kangaroo.uk.com/catalogue/needle_detail.php?stId=129&tId=17) (They ship worldwide. Ship to US is about 65 cents per needle.) What you pay is about half the cost of purchasing the needles here in the US.

Oooh, I just got my options- they are the greatest! No catching (unless they come unscrewed- ant there's plenty of warning!) and they don't come undone with the key they give you. I didn't use it when I started (I was playing with a swatch) and it started to come undone around 3 inches. Not bad!
