Katie mentioned what y'all were doing here and I'd love to join for the support. We are doing a no buy challenge of sorts already. My dh is going to leave teaching in May to come home and help run the business we started in 2004. For this to happen, we have some goals to reach in the next 5 months (and beyond).

We plan to:
~be debt free, except for our mortgage
~be living under our means
~be frugal and efficient with our money
~be paying ourselves first for our investment fund (currently stocks and ETF's) and not touching this money regardless

There are other goals, but those are the biggies. Of course, living with less and walking gently are part of it, too, but I do have an end goal so I wanted to share that.

I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself since I don't post at AW regularly, though I do know a few of you :)

eta: oh my...I need to change my siggy picture. That one is from two years ago!

Hi Jenni! :waving:

My goodness, look at your little man! He's getting so big. Finn still asks when Skyler is coming to visit again, lol.

Finn is welcome to adopt dd if she wants. She's... challenging.

DD refers to Finn as Wendy or "the girl I had tea parties with in Texas, remember her?" Occasionally a moment of clarity hits and the name comes to her.

How are Conrad and Noah?

Ha! Cute Skylar...tea in Texas. I'll pass on the adoption. Finn's full of vim and vigor and keeps me hopping, too :p

Conrad and Noah are good. Noah is in 4th at public school, Conrad is in middle school! Finn goes to a pre K a couple hours a day and is already talking about Kinder. My homeschooling days are definitely over for now (and, dare I say it? I'm enjoying them being in school. Bad, bad mama.)

I sometimes fantasize about sending dd to school. We've considered it because we think she could use the social aspects of it, she's very secluded here, but the only school she's allowed to attend is a terrible school. The only private schools are religious.

Are you still doing Finicky Llama? I go to your site once in awhile to see if you're offering anything. The kids play with their things from you everyday. I was cleaning out my fiber stash a few days back and came across the wool ball bag w/your logo. :)

Yes. Finn loves to play with her friends and it's so cute to see the boys running willy-nilly around the yard while Finn and the girls sit around in a circle, talking to each other and playing with dolls.

She's ready for Kinder. The boys were NOT by any stretch of the imagination ready to leave me at 5 yo. They are so different.

Of course, maybe I would fight it harder if the business didn't keep me so busy. Noah fell a bit behind and I had to hire one of our tutors to homeschool him a few days a week while I worked

I have the best of intentions and do plan to keep it going, but right now I have other things that need my attention. I took a break last year and planned to start up again when things slowed down. I think I was able to do that for all of 2 months before I got bogged down again. Overall, I'm not very good at balancing things in my life or managing my time (but I'm working on it).

It makes me feel good that my items are still in use and loved

So, Linda...are you going to join us? Heck, you use cloth TP and make everything from scratch so you're over half way there already :p

How are you? Is your littlest still struggling with food sensitives?
