What is the smallest size scrap you save when you are cutting/sewing? I hate throwing fabric out and save waaay too many piddly pieces that I have YET to do anything with. I usually just send them to another mama that actually uses them.

I throw away anything that's less than about 2" square or so. The smallest piece I've used was a 2.5" square, and that about ticked me off to handle  I just kinda guess with 'em for the most part, if I don't think I'll ever use it, I throw it in the can. Then before I empty the sewing 'trash' can I make sure there's nothing someone else wouldn't want or could use.

Well umm, is it really pretty fabric? Is it something I dyed myself? There are times when I'll take all the white scrap I have around & LWI dye it just for fun. Or is it pretty silk or maybe that scrap of real silk velvet that my friend sent me. Cause those could be the size of my thumb nail & I'd still hang on to them.

Normally though 3X3 unless it's special.
