HI
This is my first post, and I am in search of information.
My 14m old daughter had siezure at the start of the week. As you can imagine we are all very worried about her. She is home now and seems to be fine, but I would like to educate myself on this condition. I was sent here. Any experiances or informative sites would really be helpful to me right now.
Thank you
S:hug:

Can you post this to the main board? You will get a TON of help there. It is the first forum when you pull it up.

I'm so sorry about your dd's seizue. How scary!:drop:

My 1st DD use to have seizures, she was 18 months old when she had her first one, she wasnt born with them or anything she started hers when she hit her head one day while playing with some older kids, the doctor we took her too told us not to let her go to sleep and do all the typical things and we did but I immediately saw a difference in my daughters temperment she was irritable where she use to be really sweet, she developed adhd, she also would space out on us, after 5 yrs of seeing doctor after doctors because i knew something was wrong but no one would listen to be i finally found a doctor who witnessed one of her "space outs" and ordered a brain scan and found she was having seizures and she was having about 60 of them a day!! she was put on medication and then over the years she just outgrew them, i guess kids can do that, the meds gave her brain the time it needed to finally repair the damage that was caused by the fall and hit on the head she had when she was little, when she was 9 she stopped taking all meds and has been fine since. She has a high IQ(119) and is a great kid but she doesnt have what i call common sense, but it comes off as just being ditzy. For example just last week she saw a road sign that said buckle up and showed a car on the sign well she asked if it was against the law to not wear a seatbelt then why didnt people who ride motorcycles not have to wear one too?? or if you tell her to go wash her hair she has asked me if she should use shampoo. LOL, i just give her the answer and go on with my day but over the years she will outgrow this too im sure. She is 13 now.

have you gone to see a doctor about the seizures what did they say? is it a infection maybe? or maybe she is epileptic, it can be controled with medication. ((HUGS)) and i hope she gets better.

Thanks! The really funny thing is, this was taken on a beach in Ventura, CA.....and we live in Maui! This is the pic that we are going to send out for our cards.

Did your dd have a febrile seizure? Or just a random one (or more?). Have you seen a pedi neurologist yet? I used to be a ped nurse in a really small hospital, so I'm not really any help. :)
