I think I am creating mine as I get older.
I miss grandma and the food and family. All the ladies would wash adn dry dishes and it was an intimate time for the women.
And the FOOD! Both my grandparents could cook so well.

This year I decorated my home and it is so cozy. But I dunno about anything else so I thought I would see what you all are up to:)

Hoping Kimberly is stronger too! Been thinking of you~!

Thanks Kristerae, I am getting stonger each day. I'm learning too: overdoing it several days in a row results in the need for a long afternoon rest in bed.

I'm young enough that there are family matriarchs on all sides, so meals like Thanksgiving never fall to me (okay, DH's family let us host Thansgiving once, but overall prefer turkey to a vegetarian feast). I do get to host DH's family for Christmas; brunch has been our tradition but we may change it to Christmas Eve this year. It would put less pressure on me on Christmas morning (preparing and hosting brunch, then preparing food to take to my family's Christmas dinner extravaganza), and would spread the holiday cheer and excitement over a few days.

I do hope to more fully celebrate the winter solstice this year. I have privately kept it in my heart for years, and slowly added bits to the celebration by having little gifts for my boys, a candlelit dinner, etc. This year I'd like to have a candle-night (http://www.candle-night.org/english/what/index.html); I found it interesting to find a website that describes pretty much what I had come up with on my own. One difference is that we start from darkness, then light our candles to signify the return of light.

I won't be here much for awhile, at least on the main board. I'm really grieving the loss of my fertility and each baby and pregnancy announcement brings me to tears (hormones are still out of whack I guess, or I am finally not shutting things out).

Oh hun, sometimes that is hard. I was done in my heart and mind when I had my hyster and I still feel like that on occassion.

I like that candle night idea...
