I feel like the stuff they sell to put under rugs is usually nasty foam - icky smell, feel, etc. and they often stick eventually too. I can't imagine it has much to recommend it except that it's cheap (sometimes) and it pads the floors. I'm wondering whether anyone has a good suggestion. Have we just been too cheap to find the good stuff? I need a little non-slip, and a fair amount of padding. (We have tile floors at the moment.) Thanks for any ideas!

I don't necessarily think its any more wholesome, but I have a friend who uses calking on the bottom of her rugs... just puts it on, lets it dry, then it has a built in non stick thing...maybe you could find one that is eco friendly?

Does it ever come off the rugs? What an interesting idea. I still have no good ideas myself.
