The yarn is Paton's SWS, which stands for Soy Wool Stripes; I'm felting it today, so I have high hopes... I LOVE the colors.

Okay, that is incredible. I HAVE to learn how to knit!!!!

It was pretty easy, too, only the knit stitch, and you just keep going around and around, a couple of decreases here and there, and some icord (which is really just more knit stitch). I think the yarn really makes the bag, it's felting in the washer right now (crossing fingers).

I love those colors! I love soy/wool blend yarns. Were you able to get the Paton's SWS locally?

The pattern is at Magknits, MagKnits, your friendly online knitting magazine (http://www.magknits.com) and it's called "sophie"

The felted picture doesn't do it justice; it's actually very stiff and holds its shape incredibly well. It stand up by itself :) I love it SO much! I plan to get two more skeins of SWS in the "earth" color for fall.

About SWS; I think I paid 4.99 a skein; the color is "natural geranium" and it doesn't look like it matches in the store. When I picked up two skeins, they looked like different colors, same dye lot and all; but it all does work out in the end.

Anyone up to knitting for me if I send yarn? (Crossing fingers) :D

I would offer, however, I have a TON of holiday knitting to do... perhaps after Christmas?

They have the prettiest colorways, don't they? And it knits up in the coolest stripes, as you can see from Jenn's Sophie bag :)

Oh, I-cord isn't that bad :) How big are the SWS skeins...50g? You could do a Booga bag with 3 skeins. I have a couple patterns for smaller felted bags. I'll show them to you next time I see you~

they are 80g....so 110 yards each skein. I know the sophie called for 220...but I never used it all. hmmmm.....I will probably need a 3rd skein if I want to do the booga out of this.

darn! LOL

I'd love to see what patterns you have :)

Noro skeins are 50g each and Booga calls for 3 of them. I am not sure of the yardage on a skein of Noro...they are 100 meters, and I have no idea how many yards that is.

I will go through my patterns and try to find some links to some felted bags. Right now I have a cranky (and clingy!) 3 year old so I'll post them later :)
