I'm just wondering if you ever have time to get to the gym and do you pay a babysitter while there?
I really want to get to the gym but I just don't see how I can and it's killing me. Curves doesn't have childcare and neither do many of the gyms here. The ones that do the memberships are way more expensive and then the childcare is way up there too. :vent:
How do you do it?

well, I got a job AT curves lol so I work out while I'm there :).
I'm a huge fan of home fitness dvd's tho.

Who has your kids while you're at work? Alot of my clients basically come straight to curves after work and just go home 40 minutes later then they're sposed to since its only a 35min workout (when you include the stretching).

I squeeze it in after I take Grace to school, if I don't have a 9am client. This winter we are opening at 10am, so I am hoping to work out more. Also they let my daughter work out if she wants for $7. I do this every once in a while. She is 9 and the gym is privately owned, most places probably wouldn't be able to let children work out because of insurance.

I belong to Slim n Tone (another 30 min. type place), they do have babysitting for $2 but only from 9:30-11:30M-F. So days I'm not working, we do that.

But days, I'm working I usually miss as it's been such a hetic, long day anyway I just can't justify coming home later. My younger DD has to be picked up by 5 so not much wiggle room.

Arrggg. . . I tried posting this and my computer is screwy.

Anyway, I just joined Life Time Fitness (http://www.lifetimefitness.com/clubs/index.cfm?strWebAction=club_details&intClubId=168) . They just opened six days ago and I've worked out five out of six days. Children are $5/month and childcare is included (up to 2 hours/day). Lauren LOVES it. Jonathan cries the first five minutes.

I haven't worked out in a really long time because Jonathan has been such a high needs baby (though he is very content so long as he is on my hip) and has spent the past year waking up anywhere from 3-7x/night that I'm beat. Sure, I could have worked out after he went to bed, but truthfully, I was beyond beat each night.

So, when I went in the gym for the first time to workout on opening day, I dropped the kids off and then went into the sauna and just cried. It is the most nurturing thing I do for myself on a daily basis.

Also, though, I do only work 2 full days/week, so it's pretty easy for me to get there. Were I working full time, I'd really try to go on my lunch hour if at all possible.

We have a fitness center at work, but sadly when I'm here I have so much stuff to do and can't seem to get away. I have a treadmill at home that I try to use at least 4 x a week.

I tried last year to joint a gym. My son loved the daycare and I liked going, but it just really pinched that already tight timeframe between work and bedtime. I found we ate more cr@p because I was rushing dinner more. It just didn't work for us and I'm still trying to find a way to get more fit.

Yeah, I'm baffled as to how to work in regular fitness. As it is, I exercise about once a week. Mental health benefits only, I guess. Aside from walking a lot, but what with winter coming on I won't be doing much of that anymore.
There *is* a yoga studio two doors down from where I work, I'd like to find a way to make that happen.

Um, I have no excuse not to go. And I'm still not going. Here I am, not going. Sigh.
