I was using Medela breast milk storage bags until now and putting in the 5oz (150cc) that they allow per bag. I ran out of Medela bags and am using Lansinoh bags now and they are marked up to 6oz (180cc) and look like they could hold a lot more.

I have gallons of milk in the freezer now, so even if I (God forbid) dried up tonight it would be at least a month until we used the milk I am freezing now.

Avraham Chaim is 3 months old and drinking 5oz (150cc) per bottle now so I am thinking that that will not be enough by the time I am dipping into my freezer stash, certainly not by the time we use up the milk already in the freezer. I don't want to put in less per bag because the bags are expensive but I also don't want to be wasting milk or wishing I had different quantities.

5oz or 150cc is a convenient quantity since I pump into a 10oz (300cc) bottle and feel so accomplished when I am able to add another two bags to the freezer. LOL That doesn't mean it is the best quantity to be freezing the milk in though. I am freezing 15-20oz per day.

Thanks!!

wow. I wish I could pump that much. anyway my baby takes supplement plus nursing. she was at-breast supplemented until about 6 months old. when she was a nb she would drink 2-3oz at a time. then (I would hold off a little because she would get greedy and take more then she could handel and then spit it all up at one time) she started taking 4oz regularly around 3 months or so. and then after we introduced sippys at 6 months she got up to 6oz at a time. after that it only took a little while for her to take 8oz, but she was having problems again (spitting some up, fortunatly it wasnt all) so we cut her back to 6oz then 2 hours later or so she can have more, plus all the nurseing she wants.

I cant help you much though because I dont make enough to feed fresh, never mind even thinking about freezing some!
