I hope I am still welcome here when I post this :smooch:

Starting in early July I made the decision to finish all of my UFO's. Since July I either finished or got rid of unfinished projects. I had projects that have been sitting around for ages and frankly some of them I just didn't care about finishing anymore. I am currently on my last UFO, a queen sized quilt that I am handquilting. I started this quilt shortly after I got married almost eight years ago!!:rainbow: When I started working on it again (mid August) I had about 65% of it handquilted. I probably have about 75% of it quilted now (silly me wanted it stipple quilted all over :sob: what a time consuming sucker this is!)

Now for the crazy part. I have decided that after an entire life time of crafting, stashing and creating that I will only work on ONE, yes ONE project at a time until it is finished. I also realized that I personally do not feel inspired by having a stash. Actually, I feel claustrophobic with all this "stuff" around even though I painstakingly organized and labeled my stuff. I realized that personally I like to find a project, go out and search for all the right components and then work on it from there. I realized during all this crafty soul searching that all of my favorite projects have been created just that way. I never would use anything from stash anyway, because I liked to get it all at once!!

So crazy me has no stash now. No yarn stash, no felt stash, no fabric stash, no paint stash, no stamp stash... nothing. I have a small (as in the size of two shoeboxes stacked) plastic storage container that has some doll skin fabric and tube gauze, a Magic Cabin stocking kit I bought years ago and some leftovers from the queen sized quilt I am making in case I have to make some repairs.

I can't tell you how light I feel and I can't believe it took me all this time to realize my crafty style!! Now I feel so motivated to finish this quilt so that I can make other stuff!

but...but...where'd all the stash go? I don't remember giving you my mailing address lol!

But seriously, that's a great attitude. I can sort of understand it because I've felt very claustrophobic with trying to squeeze all my stashes into my bedroom.

With all these UFOs getting finished I expect pictures ;)

Did you store all your stuff or get rid of it? I'd love to take a new approach to my craft space/sewing space/clutter. :)
Hope everything works great for you!

If I am not heard from in 24 hours I have fainted and hit my head on the floor, am laying unconcious and my husband can't wake me and my kids are crying. I never thought I would live to hear "no stash".

Must..go..lay..down...

You are a braver person than I! I could never part with my stash.

No kidding. It would be like losing my identity!

I know, I have to take some pics, I finally figured out what was wrong with my camera. My son changed the settings! I have been slowly getting rid of my fabric since my son was born, I just can't make quilts like I used to. I donated my yarn or used it up on UFO's. I threw my paints out since most of them were only half full and no one I know wanted them. It's actually been a long process of sorting and purging/giving away.

Well good for you.

I don't see stash-free in my near future but I decluttered and threw out a bunch of broken toys this week. Eh, I know it's a leap but i had to try.
