what to do...what to do?

knife block-- should i freecycle this? it seems kinda weird to have someone come over to pick up some knifes. i don't know why... or just drop it off at goodwill?

shot glass from my 10 year class reunion (a couple of weeks ago)-- i said i was going to recycle it, and dh really thinks i should keep it and just put it with the glasses. noone will ever use it.

old cell phone-- it's an old one. i thought about freecycle, but then i would have to erase all of the numbers and all of that i guess. give it to ds for a toy?

One of my 4 knives is a nice 7" chef's knife I got at the Goodwill. Really, it's ok to donate them. I'll go check out the Goodwill near you in a week. :joker:

Shot glass: if you aren't sentimental about those things (I'm not), I'd donate it. Some needy college kid who has no other way to imbibe will buy it at the Goodwill for a quarter. Needy kid gets drunk; Goodwill earns 25 cents.

Cell phone: If your son doesn't need it as a toy (we usually reserve broken ones for that), women's shelters can really use them for the women to have 911 capability. That's worth the trouble of erasing your stuff, no?

I agree, knives are fine to donate. The shot glass is really your call though. You can keep it... it won't take up any space, but if you won't ever use it, or don't feel like it holds great value to you (or any value at all) then give it to goodwill. As for the cell phone, there are places that take them for homeless people to call 911 if they are in trouble. I have given a few of them to those. We are about to upgrade again, so I will be donating a couple more soon.
