Now, I'm afraid to leave her negative for fear she will leave me negative as well (for no reason) of course?
She just flat out did not pay for 6 days now. I contacted her 3 times only the last time being pretty staight forward "If I don't receive payment or contact within 24 hours I will be forced to leave you negative feedback"
Nothing.

I wonder if something happened to her. I mean, accidents and stuff do happen. I thought one time when I had a non-paying bidder that I reported him to ebay. Then about a month later I left neg. feedback, I think. It was a long time ago.
Maybe take a little bit more time before you post neg. fb.

Yes, I thought about that possiblility then, I checked her other recent feedback before trying to contact her a third time. She had 2 neg. feeback at one month, 2 at 6 month and 2 at one year. The most recent of the two for non-payment of items with no contact. I hope she does contact me so, I can try to understand what happened...if anything but, it does bug me that I'm out the money and time.

You did the right things checking her out as much as you can.
I guess I was just thinking if maybe she bid on, say, three items and she got neg. feedback for two very recently (all the same timeframe). And if she had perfect feedback previously.
Does that make sense? One time when I checked someone's feedback they had a lot of negatives at one particular time. The ebayer had been in a devastating car accident and was away for some time. When she came back her feedback from then on was all positive again.
Anyway, I am sorry she didn't pay you. That stinks. :( I hope she comes through for you.
Best wishes.

File for an unpaid item dispute. Ebay will send her a notice- if she does not respond- her negative will not count against your feedback. (It will show up, but not be tablulated- iirc)
if she does leave (or even threaten to leave) retalitory feedback you can tell ebay and I think (I dont know for sure since I havent done it) that they would have it not count against you or remove it or soemthing. they have a rule against that.

Yes, and definitely file to get your auction fees back.

Oh, didn't know I could do that. I did the "second chance" offer thing right now. I didn't know ebay was going to put it up for auction again. I thought ebay would merely ask the person down from the winner if they still wanted to purchase the item. Ok, off to figure it out. Thank you all for your responses!

I was just coming here to post the same thing. I have someone who won something 11 days ago. My auction terms state payment is due within 10 days. I sent her a message yesterday asking if she had sent a MO but I didn't get a response so I sent an Unpaid Buyer reminder today. I hate to leave a negative, but it's hard when she won't even respond to my emails. Ugh.

I usually request contact information and I get them to respond that way.

Just piping in that I've had 4 retaliatory negatives and Ebay wouldn't do squat. When a couple of the people became non-members (were kicked off or closed their accounts...not sure which) Ebay stopped counting the -1 from each against my score, but my profile still says I've had 4 negatives. It sucks but the FB system does not work if we allow the fear of retaliation to keep us from leaving negative feedback when it is deserved.
That said, 6 days isn't bad. Ebay policy used to say 10 days, didn't it? That may not still be the case, but at one time was. File a NPB report and see if there's resolution before you leave it though. Many times that spurs them into action.
Also, when I list I usually require instant payment through PayPal and that helps avoid this. Nice, cause slow or non payers are SO annoying!
