Hi,
I am a little familiar with the uses of genitian violet tincture for treatign thrush in babies....

I am on verrry strong antibiotics and despite avoiding sugar, alcohol, all the stuff that breeds yeast, I have a killer yeast infection. I am eating plain yogurt and taking vitamins and all of that.

Had surgery on my female parts the beginning of this month.
Anyone that is familiar with genitian violet tincture know if it would help me, to apply externally, near a stitched area (not sure how much has healed in the stitch area, but from a quick self exam its looking pretty healthy).

PLEASE HELP!!

thank you

I am not sure about its use in such sensitive areas. Have you tried yogurt douche? I would also start drinking kefir too. Garlic douche is supposed to be good also.

SillyMommy mentioned she was going to use Culturelle which is apparently an acidophilus suppository. This would help immensely....putting the good flora right where you need it immediately. You can call around to see which health food store near you carries it. I've used something just like it (I just can't remember the name) and I had great results.

Homeoapathy has also helped in the past.

I have done it, after trying everything else from garlic suppositories to probiotics to yogurt to homeopathy. I have used gentian violet for a vaginal yeast infection. And it *worked.* It worked awesome. I used a q tip to apply. Inside the vagina, it *burns* but was ok for me on external labia and surrounds.

So I'd say yeah - the only caveat is that on raw skin it can permanently stain the skin - so said my bottle, not to use on an open wound. So be careful or you may have a purple line forever where you are stitched.

(((hugs))) Sounds painful. Go for the gentian! It cleared mine up quick. Mine was also from antibiotics and man, nothing else touched it.
