nak, but want "sandwich wrappers" - i.e. 1 layer of pul, and 1 of organic/hemp fabric. serged or turned and topstitched.

these would be squares and fold like an envelope and snap in 2 spots. i picture the points (triangles) somehow meeting or slighly overlapping and snapping.

i hate plastic bags and tupperware. i would wash these in the machine.

I want them to be flat squares so they can get really clean from messes with jelly and mayo (rather than a pouch, etc.).

does this make any sense? :p Probably not, but it was clearly designed in my head @ 5 a.m. today!!!!

It's a very interesting idea. I'm thinking the organic hemp though isn't exactly the best fabric choice for the inside -- maybe a well washed organic flannel or a cotton/poly blend standard fabric. I'm thinking of the fabric's shedding qualities, meaning how much fabric is going to get onto the food and be ingested.

Have you seen Oiled Cloth, it's an oldie but goodie? It might would do without the PUL, I think.

I've got too much on my plate sewing wise at the moment, but I hope you find someone to do this for you.

I was thinking the same thing, maybe just PUL without the hemp? Or if you didn't want the pul touching the food maybe a sturdy weave like a twill for the inner. I'd also think that aplix might work better than snaps - when you push the snaps to close them, you might squish the sandwich,kwim?

If you get this figured out I want some too. :p
