Our house is pretty decluttered... although there is ALWAYS stuff that could go, we usually are pretty on top of it currently. We are finding it hard to get rid of some stuff that we have now replaced though.

Anyone know how to get rid of:
Computer moniters?
Bikes (this is a big one since we have 5 that need getting rid of)?
VCRs?
Rugs?


These are just a few of the things we have replaced or decided not to keep in the last year and we can't find a way to get rid of them... perhaps "freecycle"?

Freecycle, they will be gone in 2.2 seconds!!!
Unless you have the time and energy to try to sell on craigslist, I would just freecycle them!

They have been sitting here so long that I just dont care about making money off of them. lol... esp the bikes. I just want them gone to someone who will use them. Thanks... I may try that. :)

I just got rid of a ton (literally at least a ton) by sitting it by the curb. People drive through our housing area every week just searching. This one lady made out really good at our place this week - old china, a chair, a desk, etc.

What about donating the monitor to a school or a friend?

I put my stuff by the curb too. It is always gone within a day. One time I put a rabbit hutch out there and hadn't even walked back up the driveway before someone stopped and grabbed it!

I am so rural, I just put stuff out by the road with a big FREE sign next to it. Almost everything I had was gone within a few days (and we get almost no traffic on our road). I think it's less time-consuming than freecycle.

Also if you call your local waste mgemt folks or the City, they should have a way to dispose of the computer monitors if no one wants them.

I'm sure the bikes, if functional, will go like hotcakes from a free pile or freecycle. If not, scrap metal places will pick up metal for free.

yea...freecyclers would get that stuff in a second! the library or a school might want the monitor.
