So my garden is overflowing with beautiful produce today. Everything is so close. I have pulled out the peas, to make way for the winter greens (Collards and such) and started planning an August planting of peas along the house (where there is less sun and less heat). I dropped some cilantro seeds where I cleared that out and am trying to see if it will grow in this heat. It is doubtful, but I have to try. I hate buying the stuff... lol! At least I will have a good double crop for when I need to make salsa at the end of tomato season. ;)
Here are the pictures from today:
First up... the flowers. The sunflowers are going crazy! They are everywhere and starting to really want to fall over with the weight of their big flower heads too... I have had to support some of them to the fence. But they are SO beautiful!

Next up is the "dwarf" beans which are now nearly 12 ft long. I don't think the package was right.

Cyan is over 4 ft tall.
The supports I made them are long buried under these monster beans and I have had to move the pea supports over so they have somewhere to go...

This is 8 1/2 ft up. LOL!
When the supports I made them were not tall enough they decided to go on over to the fence which was a few ft away...

Isn't that amazing? "Dwarf beans" my foot!

This last one is of the pea supports that the beans took over before I even moved them. This was about 5 ft away, but the beans started to go up it anyway... so I took the peas off the bottom and moved the supports over to the beans. They look pretty happy in my garden, no?
And my trellised cukes...

This is the BEST way to do cukes. I only have one plant and I planted it late, so it is doing well but I have gotten only a few full grown cukes as of yet... but there are two down at the bottom that will be ready by this weekend, and a few more as they go up that are looking to keep me stocked. ;)

And last but not least, my tomatos... this sucker weighs about a pound already and he isn't even CLOSE to being red yet.

And here are my bountiful sweet romas... OMG yum!

Thanks for looking! I sure do love organic gardening... it is amazing what you can get from such a small space. ;)
