Do you actually read the books (the ones that you choose) out of the reading reading list in order or just as your fancy strikes?

Also, in the history section under great men and women to cover and then the bios list, a few of these ppl are cross referenced, and some are better suited for reading in conjunction with science. My question is how do YOU choose which ones to cover and where to insert them into the studies and any other thoughts on the reading lists.

I do it by time. For novels, I try to gather a rough sense of timeframe, too, and schedule them in to correspond with time being studied. In the first few years of school (PK, K, and 1st depending on child) I do alot of just fun childhood novel reading and this is the exception, plus lots of the stuff on her reader list my children are going to read on their own, anyway, and I leave those off the curriculum list, does that make sense?

eta: the bios of scientists I still tie in with historical timeframe rather than, say, we're studying the atom so we read about Einstein.
