Are there any good books that help teach sewing? I'd love to take a class, but being almost 36 weeks pg, it won't happen for a while... so where can I learn the basics - without posting here nonstop and bugging all of you! :)

I love the kwik sew books. Shows a LOT of basic techniques that you can use with other patterns as well. And posting here ;) I've learned a LOT from reading here (and at sewingmamas.com now).

I have a simply sewing book by Simplicity, I found useful many years ago. If you are interested in it let me know.

I 2nd both suggestions! The Kwik Sew book instructions make a heck of a lot more sense than the patterns available in most stores and the Simplicity book has a lot of very useful tips and tricks.
