Has anyone made the A-line dress from this booK? If so, Does size 3-4 refer to size 3T & 4T?

I've made that little jumper at least a dozen times.

I'm not sure what the difference is between a regular 3-4 and a 3T-4T. Are the toddler sizes shorter? My girls are tall and thin, I usually add a bit to the length when I trace that jumper but I don't like really short things either.

I make this pattern quite often, and I think that it runs a bit short. If you cut it by the pattern, the finished length from the shoulder to hem runs about 21 inches. It is about 14 inches across the chest at the underarm. Hope that helps.

I am new at sewing. I am taking a sewing class and we are doing that dress this Monday. I wanted to go ahead and trace the pattern and per-cut the fabric before I go. I am glad to know to add a few inches to the bottom b/c I also like the dresses to be a bit longer.

Any other tips you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated.
The class made the lined John-John last week and I misses that one, so I am going to attempt it on my own.

One tip I have: pay attention to the first two seams you sew.

On my first dress I didn't pay enough attention to the diagram and ended up with an exposed seam on the lining. Look at the pictures on page 92 closely, right sides are together with the front pieces on top, you sew opposite side seams. On the main jumper/dress side you sew the right side seam. On the lining you sew the left.
