For those types of things 1mil is just fine, I don't really trust 1 mil for dipes, but especially for things like lap pads, changing pads etc, 1 mil is just fine (for a wet bag, just make sure the dipes inside are not drenched to the point of dripping and I think it would be fine). As to where to get it, that is always a tough call, I usually by from Sherri (playpenlady) she has a co op, but also sells on ebay under Daigle designs. Beth (halfdozanmama) also sells on her site, but I think it is all 2 mil. Wazoodle has some colors and I can't remember offhand if it is 1 or 2 mil. The only store I would say to aviod is the One Stop Diaper Shop, they charge inflated prices, don't offer inexpensive shipping options, and tack on a $5 "handling" fee.

I think 1 mil is fine for changing pads, but for wetbags I would go with 2 mil. 1 mil is stretchier which isn't so great when you have a heavy bag full of wet dipes. The weight of them would stretch out the bag when being carried. Plus if the wet dipes have to sit in there for a while, I just think you're better off with the 2 mil to be sure it doesn't leak. I have a diaper pail liner made from 2 mil that I've been using for a total of 4 years and it is still waterproof and in good shape after many washings.

how do you know which one you have?

Mine is like the FuzziBunz PUL - I'd presume 2mil?

You can tell the difference if you have a piece of 1 mil and a piece of 2 mil. The 1 mil feels slightly more flexible, lighter weight, and stretchier. The 2 mil won't stretch much at all.

Ya, what she said, and if you do happen to use it for a diaper, you can see the insert through it, it is not "see through", but you can see colors through it. I have 2 dipes made with 1 Mil PUL, they don't leak, but they are not my faves for the reason above, I used colored suedecloth on the inside and it shows through on the outside, not the effect I was looking for.
