I don't mean to sound silly, but we have a three bedroom/one bath house with four children and I am wondering if we would not pass a homestudy because we don't have enough room. (It's 1550 square feet.)

Another thing, DH has his own room, I sleep with the three boys (I'm still nursing the youngest) so I am thinking I will have to fake sharing a room with DH, lol. I feel wrong in doing that, though.

We are planning on putting the house up for sale in a year, so we can buy a larger home with some land. Perhaps I should wait until then?

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

every child will have to have their own bed. Siblings of same sex with in so many years of each other can share sometimes. There has to be a bed for the fosterchild, in a room with same sex children. Thats all i can remember.

If you use the extra bedroom for foster care, you should be fine. Depending on the age of children that you are intersted in fostering - you could do a set of bunk beds. Even a full/twin bunk set. Because you could put siblings in the full bed if they are fairly close in age (like a few years apart) and use the other bunk for a non-sibling. I have had 2 non-siblings in pack-n-plays and those work out just fine. (I actually prefer them to a crib sometimes because the "climbers" don't have such a long drop if they do fall) But with the one bedroom, you would be limited to either girls only or boys only.

So, let me guess......if you are like us with only boys, you would like to take in little girls?! We have had quite a few little foster girls in the past few years and after having our boys, it is SOOOO fun to go out shopping for ruffles and lace and pink and frills and.......well, you get the picture!?!!

Good luck in your decision - and please feel free if you want to pm me if you have any questions, although I don't get on here as often as I used to, I do still check in when I can!
