DH and I have been playing around with bookbinding, doing simple projects to try to decide if we want to invest a bit in a joint hobby. These mini-scrapbooks were fun to make and then I crocheted matching bookmarks

I've been doing wire jewelry for awhile but took it to a bigger scale to make some garden hangings-- they were supposed to be windchimes, but are too soft . I think it turned out nice anyway, but the thicker gave me some serious blisters since my tools are intended for thinner wire lol. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y210/hodgepatch/wirstar.jpg
some journals and more booksmarks. these are just covered notebooks rather than bound.

Had to show these off, they turned out better than I had hoped. Sculpy giraffes and ladybugs for holding toothbrushes. I love the giraffes especially!

Everything looks awesome! I am not a book/scrapbook person at all but I love yours (yes that's a compliment because I really never care for bound books). And I adore the metalwork. It will look so pretty in a garden I have to go look at those pictures again and drool

It all looks great! If you get a chance, I'd like to see how the covered notebooks look on the inside.
The windchimes/metalwork is quite pretty - I do love shiny things :)
Those sculpey toothbrush holders are too much! My DD would love that.

Well now I'm totally bummed that I wasn't able to pull off the swap this summer. Those bound books are fantastic!

They pretty much look like the inside of the bound books which you can see in the first picture. I usually use a piece of cardboard cut to size, glue thefabric around it and then glue it down. These are basically done the same as you would do a covered photo album, I just used very thin batting so they weren't too puffy. I do occassionally cheat though and just glue the first page of the book to the cover so I don't have to go to the bother though lol.

Those bound books are great! How fun to have a hobby with your dh.
Did you put something on the inside of the toothbrush holders? I have lots of sculpty- thanks to a close-out sale- and those would be something neat to make. I'm thinking you may have done like a foil inside or something?

No, they are solid since the hole is kind of large and i wanted them to be rather rugged.
