Has anyone ever made a bendy monkey? I was thinking of doing a hide and seek with bendy monkeys this year for the kids birthdays. But I can't for the life of me, figure out how to make bendy monkeys. Anyone do this?

hmmm
do the regular star shape for arms legsand head and then add another bent pipe cleaner for the tail?
or oen pipe cleaner forthe right side, one for the left side(soyou can make arms longer) and then another for tail?
or one for legs and tail and another for arms/neck.
use a big bead for the head, dye it brown...

I haven't made one, but am now (not so) secretely hoping someone who is undecided will make one for the rainforest swap (my group, of course! lol).
I would do it as Selena suggested: make the normal form for a person bendy, add on a tail. Twist all loose ends nicely in the torso area. You can leave the torso skinny or fatten it up with some wool batting. Then either use floss to cover the body (if I did that, I'd make the hands/feet a lighter color than the arms/legs, and either roving or wool felt for the torso) or wool felt to make a monkey "suit" that goes around the limbs and torso. The head use a bead that you either cover with wool felt everywhere except the face, or paint/dye the bead in matching colors so it coordinates with the body. Ears you can paint using a little half-circle on each side (keeping it simple), or sew/needlefelt onto the head if you cover it in felt (what an awfully structured sentence - hope it made sense).
What a sweet idea! :D Please post pictures when you finish :D

If you want them to be 'furry', I got some of that new 'furry' yarn and wrapped it loosely around a pipe cleaner for Mr Tumnus' legs. It looks really good and you don't have to use much. I trimmed any areas that seems too 'furry'.

Do you have more of this yarn? Could you send me a peice so I could see what it was so I could pick it up? Imagine what you did with Thomnus with ears and brown head with brown floss for the body. That would BE a monkey! I wouldn't even have to make anything else!
Oh you ladies are magical! Thanks for the ideas! (And the tail one too Selena).

very cool!
I would paint the head so there is beigh around the face and brown around the "cap". You could also just wrap it in brown wool roving around the belly and do brown thread for arms and legs.

I sure do! I wish I had the label, but I threw it out! ugh! If you pm me your address, I would be happy to send you a bit. I got it at Joann's. I will see if they have it online and I will post the link if I find it.
ETA: This may be the same stuff.......if not, it is something similar http://www.joann.com/catalog.jhtml?CATID=82240&PRODID=102581&source=search
