http://www.amitymama.com/marketplace/showcat.php?si=&perpage=24&sort=1&stype=&cat=500&ppuser=241
I also have a little dried lavender and a few lavender wands left, lots of left-over bits of corduroy if anyone's looking to make patchy things. and a stringed instrument you can pluck (called a zither or Music Maker - see www.europeanexpressions.com) which also has a ton of music that goes with it which makes it easy to play (put sheet under strings on the wooden top, and pluck where it says to. :)). It does need tuning, and the tuner is lost, but I think you could use pliers.

Playmobil (used is fine)
Sculpy (bendy or otherwise)

Gameboy game Pokemon Emerald version (used is fine)
Gameboy game Nintendogs (not dachshunds one - I think DD is getting that already)

some kind of mpg player - used is fine but must actually work :)

WAHM body lotion (nothing patchouli please)
WAHM lip balm in fruity flavor - love raspberry.

Stash's Vanilla Nut Cream DECAF tea - this is impossible to find in our local stores, and I love it

Dark chocolate - mmmmm

Navy blue fine-wale corduroy in at least a 2 yard piece (every time my Joann's has a cord sale, this is unavailable )
Other material suitable for boys' trousers or PJs in at least 2 yard increments
Material for quilt backings/bindings (solid wovens) in at least 2 yard increments
Quilt batting
Nifty quilting notions (ie marking pencils which disappear, storage for quilt squares, etc)
Batik cotton woven fabrics in blues, reds, purples, greens.

Wooden spatula in very good condition (no cracks, but it doesn't have to be new)

Kapla blocks or other plain wood blocks - shape is unimportant - just need a lot of uncolored building blocks. (used is fine)

Sarah's Prints or similar quality 100% cotton PJs for boys, in sizes 10 thru 16, in VG condition (small stains OK, but nothing torn or wearing-thru iykwim), long-sleeved preferred.

Gift Certificate to Home Depot or LL Bean or Applebees or Joanns Fabrics or Old Navy or Limited Too

a bicycle helmet for an 11-yr-old girl - no pink or purple please - nothing that's been in an accident.

Horse-y or dragon-themed items - clothing or knick-knacks - for said 11-yr-old, (size 12-14 girl's)

ANOTHER LATE ADDITION: A white sheet, preferably double or queen sized, doesn't matter if it's flat or fitted, doesn't matter if it has a few stains or holes. Just has to be white. Not off-white, not cream. White. For my DH who wants to use it on his gaming table to look like snow.

I'd love to do multiple swaps if it works out.

I don't think we have a general rules list any more. Maybe I'll try and write something up in a new post and everyone can chime with what needs to be included. Kind of like a general guidelines. I think it would be helpful for those who are new to swaps :)

For Winnie:

~below knee length 5 or 5T dresses, bloomers in the same size, casual and as much natural fiber as possible. By casual I mean not super formal satins and such. They can be pretty and feminine, just not formal, lol.

~natural and open play toys and such, would love WAHM or handmade. All the normal 5yo girl stuff applies like princesses, unicorns, pink, fantasy like knights and dragons. She would LOVE a girl dragon!

~a good quality dress-up crown or tiara

For Finn:

~size 4/4t summer clothing. I would prefer limited character prints. Shorts should be elastic waist so he can use the potty alone. A few pairs of snap/button types are fine, but not too many. I also hate the cargo shorts. He doesn't like to wear them, so they sit on the shelf. Too bulky maybe?

~a good quality dress up crown for a prince/king. Or other boyish dress up stuff.

~Wahm fantasy toys, or high quality figures like schlage (sp?)

For Zella:

~baby legs in any colors/patterns, especially wild and funky

~Bitty Baby clothing but not accessories, she's too little for accessories

~soft shoes in wearable condition for 3-6 or 6-12m Shes a size 3 in shoes.

~soft wool yarn for knitting shorties or even longies

For Me:

~wool yarn in great colors, no white/cream please unless you want to dye it for me too ;)

~summery batik fabrics for skirts (2+ yard pieces please)

~tea from Dannielle at Natural Playthings

~a teapot like Dannielle at Natural Playthings has on her site. I don't need the warmer.

~Gift cards for at least $10 for local stores (like Target) or $20ish for WAHM's. I don't have any money so I can't add my own to a $5 gc, kwim?

~gift cards in $10 increments for fast food like Taco Bell, McDonalds, etc... . We don't eat out often but it's a nice treat sometimes. GC for Chuck E Cheese would be great too.

~XL or XXL yoga pants for my class this summer

~yoga accessories, especially a mat and the band thingie

~Trout Fishing in America CD's, or even tapes if they still exist

~cast iron skillet and pans for camping, especially a dutch oven

~some sort of coffee pot for camping to heat water on a fire

~HOBO PIE IRONS I would love a couple of these, must be round and cast iron (picky, I know, but the other kinds just don't work as well)

~easy to moderate usefull knitting patterns that incorporate basic stitches like knit, purl, and limited use of fancy ones, lol

~a cute purse with fringies or danglies or something. I would prefer no feathers though. This should be smallish sized enough for a wallet/checkbook, asthma inhaler, a binky, a granola bar and a small bottle of water, lol. Nothing too large. WAHM made would be awesome!

For Dh:

~a utilikilt (haha)

~size XL pants that zip off at the knees to make shorts. These are made of that sort of silky soft poly fabric, kwim? Not canvas or cotton or whatever.

~basic stained glass making supplies

~ a mig welder (rofl)

Me too. I still have one person I can send to. Maybe some more mamas will join :) and the other mamas will add more to their lists :D

I can only "maybe" do 2 people but not both of them because they both want the same thing and I dont have enough for both and I am pushing it to make it a $40 package. I think I may have to pass this time.
Sadly I dont have hanna or other fancy brand clothes which seems to be very popular this round.

I can't seem to find anyone to do a $40 package for either, so I'm going to have to sit this one out! I'm just not having any luck with swaps lately....either I have stuff to send, but don't get picked....or I get picked, but don't have stuff to send to others! UGH!

SweetnSour

Karen

I have to run to the store, but will look over the lists again when I get back. Does anyone need girls clothes size 4/100 cm ? I have a bunch of stuff Kathryn has outgrown. I also have a medela pump, avent bottles, maya adjustable pouch (size M in purplely shades, not sure of the number), hmm, I'll see if I can think of anything else.

I just sent my 2 choices again. Those are the only 2 I can do and neither has dropped out. I too will just drop if that's not enough. These big swaps are a ton harder to organize. I could probably do $20 packages for several mamas, but it's not worth the shipping in that case. Anyway, I hope you get it all worked out.

Karen
05-06-2006, 03:09 PM
okay, i'm trying to help Kas match people up and I'm just http://purplepixelations.com/mdsmilies/readit.gifhttp://purplepixelations.com/mdsmilies/head_hurts_kr.gif I can see why she was having such a hard time with it. Tracey, I don't have your choices. Could you please send them to me ? http://purplepixelations.com/karensemotes/flowers.gif

I think maybe some of the lists weren't long enough or were too specific. We also had some people drop out. Bigger $$$ swaps are just harder I guess. I'm going to try and match everyone I can. I have to go out in a bit, but I'll try and get matches done this evening or maybe tomorrow morning.

SweetnSour

Karen
05-07-2006, 04:31 PM
Okay, I'm going to post the matches. I matched as many people as I could. I'm really sorry that I couldn't match everyone. I think it's just harder with bigger $$$ swaps. You need to have really long iso lists to make it work well.

Kas, maybe you can edit your first post to say "matches listed"

and if I made any mistakes please tell me (I really hoping I didn't mess anything up http://purplepixelations.com/mdsmilies/nerves.gif )

please pm your partner for their address. ship with delivery confirmation... you know the drill. I need to check the ship by date. we may need to move it up a bit

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
editing to add, I can't find the original ship by date so lets say ship by Monday the 15th. That gives everyone a week. If for some reason you can't get your package out by then, please let your swap partner know
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

now I think I'm going to add some hints for making iso lists to the swap guidelines in a bit.

I'm really sorry Gwen I think it was a combination of things that made it all not work (in some cases people got picked but then the people who picked them didn't get picked and other people dropped out). I'd be willing to try and organize one with a lower value after the packages for this one go out. That would probably make it easier to match everyone up :hug:

I wish I knew something about the yarn. It looks like handspun I've seen at our local farmers market. I lucked into it so have no info. I fondled it myself but it needed to go to a serious knitter. I think I've made five scarves in my life, sum total of my knitting. I'm so glad you liked everything. :)
