So, we now have a little potty set up in the bathroom across from our "big" potty. Every time I say, "Andy, let's change your diaper", Andy runs to the bathroom door and stands next to the potty and waits for me to pull down his pants and diaper and then just sits on the potty. I think he would sit there for hours if we had the patience! I don't know if he knows what to do (he did pee twice so far and we made a big deal - therefore he made a big deal clapping and screaming!) or not. Maybe this is a good start to using the potty to go potty! I've never taught anyone to use the potty before - all new to me. Is this "normal" for the beginnings of potty learning? I sure hope so! :)
On the other hand, my sister, who has a son who is a year older than Andy (2.5 yrs. old now) is scared to death of the potty - he won't even go near it! Weird differences!

you could always put the potty in the living room or kitchen...that way he could enjoy sitting on it more often...diapered or not...

My dd started doing the same thing a couple months ago. She wanted to "potty" every time we went potty. We also made a big deal if she actually went pee. I thought, this must be the beginning of her being ready to potty train. But I didn't push her, I just let her lead. She's still not completely potty trained. She still wears a diaper at night, but stays dry all day long, tells me when she needs to go, etc. It's pretty exciting to get one almost out of diapers. :)

aww thats cute. Mason will sit up on the potty and go pee, on his terms though- the door has to be shut, I must sit on the edge of the tub and the under sink cabinet door must be open  ..he's funny, he tells us now when he's going and he goes when anyone says pee..lol
he's 20 months now, I just figure if we show him where the potty is and give him the idea of what your supposed to do on it and he will get it someday.
