The April sign up deal for Usborne is a free kit (165$ value - you pay 15$s/h) with $350 purchases/sales in your first 4 weeks. I know a few people on here have kicked around the idea of doing Usborne for their own discount and wanted to share that this is a great sign up deal!

The kit includes 14 books, 3 months free website and basic business supplies including 10 catalogs.

is that $350 in retail dollars? or before they pay your commission?

what are the books (and how does it work...ie i am guessing a credit card?)

Yes, it is 350 retail sales during the first 4 weeks of business...much easier to meet than net sales!

The kit books are: (15$ s/h applies to this)

1001 Animals to Spot
Bunny on the Beach
Christopher Columbus
Dinosaurs (lift the flap)
Firefighters (IR)
First Encyclopedia of Animals
First Hundred Words in English
Flowers Sticker Book
Fox on a Box
Great Animal Search
Little Book of Vacation Activities
That's Not My Lion
True Stories of Gansters
What Shall I Paint?

I don't believe it has to be done via credit card but I will check.

I was told you can link a debit card instead of credit card or your supervisor can offer to link their credit card. They need that link because if the 350$ retail sales aren't met the kit is charged at 100$.

The website orders are done by CC but you can fill out paper orders with check attached no problem.

Hope that helps

so am I reading this right?

It won't be charged to your account until after the first 4 weeks if you don't meet the $350 in sales?

Or is it charged and then if you make the $350 in sales it's reimbursed?

think think think

You have 4 weeks from the day your application is submitted before being charged for the kit. If you meet the goal there is no charge.

"If the requirement of $350.00 in retail sales during your first four weeks is not met, we will bill for $100.00 plus tax. Your four weeks begins the day your application is submitted."

i think i'm going to do it, but i am going to wait until later in the month so as to go ahead and have some orders/events set up. the folks i'd sell to are pretty much all homeschoolers so they'd know what they want w/o a catalog (or could look it up, yk?)...

speaking with mamaxt today, she mentioned that the local homeschool center would probably do a fundraiser type thing. it's spring break though so it's closed this week, i'll check with them next week and see if i can set one up in early may.,,mamaxt teaches there twice a week (co-op type classes) so we'll work on that. that alone (an event at a homeschool center that serves 3 counties) would take care of the $350 (my last usborne party at home was over $500 and we only had 4 people...can ya tell we love usborne around here?)
