I've decided that I want to homeschool the kids starting in August. My son is 7 and my daughter is 4. I'm thinking that maybe I should buy a curriculum already set up for me so that itll be easier. Is there any you can recommend for me? Any websites I should check out? I need all the help I can get. My dh wants me to show him my plan before he'll agree. He's afraid that I might not be able to handle it or the kids won't be around others.

Here's a link to the HSLDA page about laws/homeschooling options in SC.

As far as curriculum, you need to figure out "how" your child learns best...and what methods you prefer to use in teaching in order to figure out what type of curriculum will work best for your family. Also, ask around at local bookstores/look in newspapers/etc. to try to find a homeschool support group in your area.
Best of luck in your decision.

We will be hsing in Aug too and I haven't hs'ed since dd was in Kindergarten.
I wanted an easy boxed curriculum...we are using Winterpromise.

Animal world would be perfect for your 2 kids!! Their LA program is separate from their history/literature/science...but it's wonderful!! Not sure of your religious preference, but it does include daily bible verse, which you could easily omit if you wanted.
You would also need to get a math program. That's it!! It tells you exactly what to do every day!! I love that!!:cuc:

Animal worlds is a history/literature/science program for kids ages 4-8. You have to also buy the Language arts package...I would do that for your 7 year old and just have your 4 year old follow along. It includes reading, spelling, writing, etc...
All you would need would be math.
Did you go to the site?? If you have any questions...post on their message board. Mary Grace just started it with 4 or 5 kids and is very familiar with it and very excited. You could also e-mail the author, Karen...she e-mailed me back very quickly.
Since we will not be using Animal Worlds, I haven't looked a ton into it...so sorry if my answer isn't so complete!!

We are going to be using Animal Worlds for next year my boys are 6 and 4. Let me know if you have any questions about it in particular, I just got the Instructor's Guide and really like what I see so far. We are not using the Language arts this year because we are using Ordinary Parents Guide and are really liking it but I think the LA with winterpromise would be good. For math we are using Math U See.
A really good book that I recommend is Cathy Duffy's 100 Top Picks for HOmeschool Curriculum. It has great information about choosing curriculum to go with your teaching style and your child's learning style. Definitely worth the money.
