So Bryce has blasted thru my reading list for him this school year. It's only March and he's read everything I had planned for him to read until June. So I need some suggestions on other books I can get for him to read. He finishes about 1 book a week so I need 13-15 more book suggestions. He's in 4th grade, but his test scores put his reading comprehension at a 7th grade level. So anything between a 5th -7th grade level would be fine. I usually use Sonlight but I don't want him reading the readers without the core, because then I'm stuck for that year we do the core clear as mud? LOL Sooo anyone have any good book ideas?

I know I saw a list of good books and they were ordered by reading level. It might have been while looking at the K12.com website.... they require book reports and you can pick, so they had a list of acceptable books and then had numbers that corresponded to reading levels.

You might want to browse the K12 website and see... maybe under the Language Arts or soemthing. It was a pretty good list.

Wow, that's a cool site. My kids will be thrilled with the Stellaluna activity links!

I used this one last year and it's really impressive. There're actually a lot of neat resources on the CDE website; I bet all states have this type of thing too! (So many websites to peruse...so little time...) :D

Free reading you mean? My youngest son loved the following books:

Holes, Dear Mr Henshaw, Artemis Fowl, Harry Potter, Baron's books about Merlin (Lost World of , Wings of etc), Dahl's BFG, Boy, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Those are fabulous lists! Thank you.

The Bronze Bow is on the 6-8th grade list- which my dds and I read together. I am not a religious person, but that book was fantastic. I have recommended it all over the place. Anything by this author is amazing, imo.

One of my fav books around that age was The Witch of Blackbird Pond. It's sometimes difficult to find books for that age. My teen dd just finished The Midwife's Apprentice. Excellent book.
