Any advice for encouraging them to move out?

I bought a live trap (will set up tonight), filled the holes with expanding foam and bought those electonic plug-ins to chase them away. I have also put tea tree oil around my food.

Now the mice are moving to other areas and with children on homeopathic remedies, I don't want to douse the house with tea tree or eucalyptus oil.

Mice love expanding foam. They may nests of it. Use steel wool. You can buy large packages at your hardware store in the refinishing department. Plug all holes with that. A cat helps but you can't feed it cat food or it won't hunt mice. Dogs are good but tear up a room chasing a mouse. Don't ask how I know. But, I have not found a sure-fire way of getting rid of them naturally. I am going to plant peppermint all around the house later this spring. We live on 15 acres, with only about 2 being trees. The rest is old cow pasture. We have happy when we only have mice. We have rats this winter. But, only under the house, not in, yet.

Try Peppermint oil, put a few drops on cotton balls and put them around the house. Mice hate the smell. It really works. I reapply every few weeks to keep the scent strong enough to repel.

Good luck!!

Yikes. I've already sprayed the foam in. Maybe I'll get lucky and these mice will hate it...

My sister suggested cats too, but my husband is very allergic.

Peppermint is a great suggestion. Mice do not like mints and I make peppermint soap and put it down in my shoppe below the house. I have not seen a mouse in the 3+ years I have lived here and I live in the Ozarks with 5 messy kiddo's:D
The peppermint fills the air down there and I suspect it has been what helps our home stay rodent free.

I wish it worked for the racoons..lol
