That sounds neat!!

Do you know why your parents choose to spell your name Kerri, instead of the typical "Carrie"?

Kerri
05-24-2006, 10:17 AM
Well in New Zealand it's always Kerry or Kerri or Keri or Kerrie. It's a different name than Carrie I guess, with the 'e' sound instead of the 'a' one. I was named after my mother's brother who was a stillborn babe, so I was Kerri, although he was Kerry, which is the boy's way to spell it. And it's reasonably common for boys there too.

Hello fellow Canadians. I'm from New Brunswick. I just joined here and am feeling my way around. I guess this is a good place to introduce myself.

I'm a working grammie and love playing on the computer. I'm off for the summer right now and am focusing my attention on my music and my online adventure of getting into the diamond trading business.

Over the years I've travelled across Canada and fell in love with all parts of this great country, the beautiful lakes of northern Ontario, the rolling plains of the prairies, the beautiful mountains of Alberta and BC and......ooops.....I just had a flashback to one trip........I was standing on a street in Banff, looking at the magnificant mountains when I all of a sudden got homesick for the Maritimes. I hoped in my car and drove straight home. When I got the first glimpse of the St. John River Valley here in New Brunswick, I had to stop and really look at it. It was the most beautiful sight I had ever seen and I had seen it all me life. It amazed me that I had driven all the way across Canada and back to appreciate what was in my back yard.:flowerkit

Brogan, I had a neat thing happen on the net awhile ago. I posted where I was from and someone messaged me saying they were from New Brunswick too. We chatted on and off for days and then narrowed it down to where we each lived. This young man lives on the next street over from where my son lives. That was just too cool! :D

Wendi,
Know anything about Nelson BC? Long story short, David wants to move to Nelson to become a TCM, it would be in 2 to 3 years. According to google maps you are about 4 hours away.

I don't know anything about Nelson, but Simon probably will - I'll ask him. What's a TCM? Can't he do that in Penticton? ;)

Stacebabe

TCM: Traditional Chinese medicine. He wants out of computers. There are schools all over Canada and the states, but he likes the one in Nelson the best. If it was up to me I would want a larger city, as I don't do well in small towns. Kingston was small to me, Nelson is under 10,000 people.
As I said in would not be for a few years, as he has to be able to cash out of this current dot com with enough money for school and a home. We would be there for 5 years, then we would move somewhere for him to set up a practice.

They have schools all over Canada, but he likes the one in Nelson. We would go and visit first. He knows I really don't want a small town, I had few panic attack over the thought of another small town. He keeps telling me a small town in BC will not be like Enterprise again. If we could afford it I wanted to get a place in Spokane( the largest city close to Nelson) and the kids and I would live there 3 days a week. Besides cost we would have boarder issues too.

I cannot believe we have school today. It's minus 27 with the windchill, the snow is piling up and wind is blowing everywhere. We are in Chilliwack! They usually cancel for a few centimetres when the sun is shining. WTH? Just had to vent. I didn't want the kids to walk (they wanted to) because cars are sliding all over the place and I don't want them getting squashed, but driving was a nightmare. It's crazy. Anyway, had to whine to someone.

Ottawa has so many beautiful spots and small towns. I love living here, it has the big city feeling without all the polution and congestion that towns like TO have.

I really love the fact that in 20 minutes I can be in the woods admiring nature and showing my kids all the different animal tracks, then go home to the grind all relaxed and happy.
