One of the Mums I volunteer with just found out she's pregnant with twins and wanted some input on how to eat well, etc. This would be her 5th and 6th living babies (her first was stillborn.) And she's pretty young and I'd like to give her some handouts or articles to read that are on the crunchier side, but still mainstream enough not to turn her off. Are there any multiples sites like that? LOL. Tall order, maybe.

Juice Plus! I can't stress enough how amazing this product is - I have some amazing studies that have been done with pregnant women, if you'd like me to email them to you.

Oh I found this one. http://www.babyfit.com/default.asp They ask you a ton of questions and make up a menue for you.It is very close to the blue ribbon baby diet and they have you eat a LOT of food thruout the day.The site has special conciderations for moms of multipuls.

I hope the mom who needs this information is still QUITE young... I am certainly interested in any information regarding good nutrition during this pregnancy, so I tried to register at the BabyFit site... and they wouldn't take me! The site gave me a message that given my "current health condition," they couldn't recommend a diet to me online. Since the only information I gave them was my birthdate and the fact I'm having multiples, I can only assume that it's because I'm over 35. What a bummer!

That's crazy! I think she's about 25, so hopefully she'd qualify. For goodness sake, I wonder why they would be so selective in who they want to use their site?

Liability, right? :shake: But I don't know why it would be any worse for an "old" mom... I would think that any moron could sue them if parents decided that the site's advice led to a bad outcome for their baby or babies. Sigh. I'm just glad this new mama is good and young!

I'm sorry that there were limitations. That upsets me that they wont take you.:( A mom of multipuls need just as much help getting a decent diet as a mom carrying a singleton.Older moms who want it easy need help too.I'm writing to the site manager. That is just wrong.

Dr Barbara Luke has written an excellent book regarding multiples & more pregnancy.
I also referred to the Dr. Brewer "diet" ( I believe that is what it was called).
My twins were full-term & almost 6lbs & almost 8lbs (despite TTTS-Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome).
I gained 50lbs (almost half my body weight as I was 103 lbs). I ate breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, bowl of cereal, 2 slices of thick homemade bread toasted & finally an "Ensure" drink just before bed. Enough protein is important as well as fluids (for me that was water & herbal tea (red raspberry leaf &/or stinging nettle &/or red clover) )
Mothering Muliples by Karen Kerkhoff-Gromada was an excellent resource & she has a web-site too.
