I finally got tired of the mess and clutter! This apartment has not seen a really good cleaning since DS was born...*hiding and totally embarrassed.*

It was so bad that I became completely overwhelmed and didn't have a clue as to where to begin. Last night, I sat down and made out a list of things that I had to do this week. It's a HUGE list and VERY detailed - broken down into very small bits - but I've told myself I HAVE to do at least three things on the list every day.

Worked so far!! Today I got the entire (albeit, it's small) kitchen cleaned and decluttered. I was so freakin' proud of myself! DH thought I was nuts to take pics, but I told him that they would either serve as a reminder to keep it clean or as a memorial to the day it WAS clean...ha-ha! In all seriousness, I'm going to TRY to keep it this way!

There are no before shots as I would DIE of embarrassment, but here are the afters:

Looks awesome! I'm sure you feel great :) I decluttered/reorganized two drawers and a cupboard in the kitchen today and I felt good, so you have every right to feel ecstatic!

Excellent job!!!

I finally threw away the three metal bars (they go on the corners of wood I guess as a kind of brace) that my husband said we would need one day (6 years and we haven't needed them yet) when he disassembled something the former owners had built in the garage! (They were very rusted from living outdoors behind a hedge by the side of the house...)

It looks great. The kitchen was a good place to start. It is so exciting to see that kind of progress.

It looks great!

I started decluttering (again!) today too. I did my pantry this afternoon. My goal today is the kitchen (easy), pantry, and laundry room.

The toughest battle I have is that DH is a packrat. I'll say let's get rid of the George Foreman, the waffle maker, the margarita glasses (handed down to us and never used), etc. and he always says we might "need" them someday. :shake: He brought home 4 new t-shirts from Hawaii, seemed offended when I asked what shirts he was going to get rid of, and then after he pulled 3 out of the closet he said maybe he should keep them to work around the house or to use as rags. He has a trash bag full of rags and probably 20-30 t-shirts.

Tomorrow I am doing the dining room and living room, and Thursday my bedroom, the master bathroom, and the boys' room.

Saturday is the office/craft room. That will be a huge project.

It looks great! I want a clean kitchen like that...
We donīt have a dishwasher so we always have dirty dishes piled up. We catch up every weekend and by Wednesday or so it is a mess again.

The pics of your clean kitchen are a real inspiration to me.:) It looks super! I've been working on decluttering ds's room, the kitchen is next, luckily it should be much easier than the bedroom.
