I just wanted to post this link and ask anyone that can help to please do. You don't have to send money either, they are looking for volunteers and have a Wish List you can go over.

Love Letters Inc. (http://www.lovelettersinc.org/)

The explanation is on the homepage but in short it is a nonprofit group that writes letters and sends gifts to children with cancer especially terminal cancer. After the founder's own experience, she wanted to make sure that these children knew they weren't forgotten and started Love Letters Inc.

Even if this isn't something you want to contribute to, call your local children's hospital and ask them if they need anything for the children. Even a card can matter so much in their lives.

The cancer my children had was caught early and therefore not serious but even then they felt forgotten (by family and friends... thankfully some ladies here remembered them. :) ) and once they returned to school they were called liars whenever they said they had cancer surgery. It was honestly an upsetting time for them that still affects them almost a year later.

So we will be doing what we can to help Love Letters Inc. Having felt that feeling my kids don't want anyone else to have to.

I hope you'll join us.

Thank you,
Jo

I know, they closed down the charity because the lady who founded it (Linda Bremner) died March 2nd of this year of a heart attack. :(

Here is the reason they gave for closing the charity ""It was my mother's wish that it would not continue after she was gone. There was a way she ran it that was working. She was very particular about how each child was treated and was very protective of that".

Personally I don't agree with ending it because there are still so many who need it but it wasn't mine. I'd love to start something like it but can't financially support that kind of thing so my kids and I are getting a list from the local children's hospital and writing letters to them with stickers etc in them.
