Hello everyone! I'm beginning to get a little paranoid, but this twin pregnancy surely isn't like my singleton! I've been having lots of difficulty with my stomach, and I THINK it's just the stomach muscles stretching ridiculously (I'm almost 18 weeks), but it's hard to tell. I get sharp, burning pains in my lower abdomen, especially when I sit up quickly. It doesn't SEEM like contractions or anything, but it certainly doesn't feel healthy. My ds is three and I spend lots of time running about after/with him... can it be I already shouldn't be picking him up???? I didn't think physical difficulties would start so soon! I was wondering what kind of experiences other mamas had... Thanks!

sounds like it could be round ligament pain, I'd check with your care provider to be safe

My twin pregnancy was like going from the 1st trimester to the 3rd. Definitely different than a singleton pregnancy.

Oh boy do I remember that discomfort. I had gained a significant amount of weight & I knew the babies suddenly grew a lot. My clothes totally fit differently. Clothes that were too big at the end of my other 4 pregnancies didn't even fit from about 6 months pregnant with the twins. I felt like both my muscles & my skin were stretching. I did end up with "twin skin" after not even looking like I had been pregnant with my other first 4 kids!!

Do get it checked out though.

I had a lot of pain with my twins that ended up being ligament pain. I know it started pretty early too. I was real paranoid during my pregnancy and always called and had it checked. Luckily my dr. felt that that was the best way to handle it too.

I haven't replied in ages, sorry! Thank you, everyone, for your experiences... I've been to my doctor since, and it appeared to be ligament pain after all. Twins surely are an ENTIRELY different experience from a singleton pregnancy!!! With my first pregnancy, I rarely had ligament pain, never had braxton-hicks, and actually felt perfectly awake during my second trimester. And now there's the twins! But it sounds like the differences in having twins during pregnancy are NOTHING compared to when they're born! :)
